8V VCDS Mods

This documents says Leuchte2SL VLB10 is Parking Light but this is the place where we change DRL options. Is it true or what?
Its all fine. Have you ever used your parking lights? They are your DRL and the rear position lights...

I believe so. You just need to test the settings with the different Letter / labels e.g. CD, GH etc

Practically no. I use my all light settings in AUTO so I don't know the difference.

So Parking Lights means DRL+Rear LED's right?
My Rear LED'S are always on, so there is no difference with only DRL and parking Lights.

I found an idea to work on it: Closing all front lights(DRL and XENON's) when you open your high beams for once(Not high beams on, when you just shutter)

So here is my first try out:
(8)-Leuchte10SHUTTER LB23-Lichtfunktion C 10 Fernlicht links
(9)-Leuchte10SHUTTER LB23-Lichtfunktion D 10 not active
(10)-Leuchte10SHUTTER LB23-Dimmwert CD 10 0
(11)-Leuchte10SHUTTER LB23-Dimming Direction CD 10 minimize

I did not try but it may work for left XENON's to shut down when you shutter your high beam's once.

Parking Lights are intended to mark the outer perimeter of the vehicle while parked, ignition off in an unlit or foggy area.

Usage: A parking light will come on if you move the turn signal lever while the ignition is switched off.

The front your car will use the Day Light Running light of the selected side as it's parking light and at the same time, to the rear of the car the top most line of brake light LED's will turn on.

Has anyone successfully coded the function that tells you how much fuel is left in the tank?

I tried and failed as the current VCDS Label file is incomplete with Beta 15.3 and I did not fancy forcing the coding via the LCH for this mod.

These are the notes I have:

Liters to refuel
1. 17 - Instruments
2. Coding - 07
3. Long coding helper
4. Byte 10
5. Under where it says Binary replace what should be 00111010 with 01111010 or "3A" in byte 11 to 7A.

To activate parking lights I must switch light position to parking lights(located right side of AUTO), right?
I am not planning to use it but when my ignition is on and I am driving in AUTO light mode, that parking light logo illuminates, so what does it mean?

Byte 10 or Byte 11 ? I tried doing it from looking to Golf VII's codes but after doing it, it did not work for me.

I think you are confusing the meaning of parking lights. There is no position on the light switch for them as such. I guess the switch must be in Off / "0" or Auto. To then turn a parking light on you must first park the car / stop and turn off your engine. If you are parked on the left side of the road you can put the right parking light on to make sure other traffic can see your car by moving the indicator / turn lever to the right / or up. Your right side parking light will then be active (front and back) and you can lock / walk away from the car.

Is this what you believe parking lights to be?

With regards to the refuel coding, I am not sure. I followed my posted notes but as there were no labels / descriptions in VCDS I did not want to take a chance and "code blind" for mod i would never really use myself.

*Some coding, although accepted, cannot be reverted in VCDS v14 and v15 should you change your mind. Is a bug :(

Now I get it.
So here is something I don't know too.

As you know there is 4 different position in light switch: 0 - AUTO - 1'st - 2'nd (I don't know their exact names)
What is the difference between 0 and 1'st position?
2'nd position is the one for main beams.

0 = Lights Off
AUTO = DLR's On, Auto Lights and Wipers On
Side Lights = DLR's On (Dimmed) and interior Lights On
Dipped Beams = DLR's On (Dimmed), Interior Lights On and Head Lights On

*In the UK the DLR's are on in the 0 Position due to regulations.

My DRL's are also on in the 0 Position so only difference between is interior light.
My DRL's are not dimmed in Beams but I changed dimming of DRL's when indicator's on(because everybody say it is lot safer)

I am going to try my idea (closing main beams when you shutter your high beams for once) and remaining liters tomorrow

Does low beams and high beams light up from same place? I have Xenon lights to as for as I they come from same place. To do so my idea become impossible.
We can dim the DRL when using high beams for once(shutter), but it also looks hard.

Remaining Litters does not work BTW

Has anyone found a way to turn off the electromecanical handbrake without pressing the brake? I heard that in the A4 maybe? they were able to do it.

As long as the doors are closed and your seat belt is on you can just accelerate to drive away and it releases itself. If you open a door it reapplies itself. Or are you wanting it to do it without having to have seatbelt on? If so I'm not sure it's possible.

Anyone know what the security codes are for Module 3 ABS, I have tried the 2 in @DJAlex PDF 20103 and 40168 which are accepted but when I try to change "scan for seatbelt" it asks for the security code. I think de-activating this may allow us to move the car without having to put the seatbelt on.

Ross-Tech have said that there is a 3rd code, but they and others are yet to find it :(

Just a heads up for anyone who is interested, as it's not picked up by the update checking... VCDS Beta 15.5.0 is available for download

I have two problems
1-
When I indicate left, my left front fog lights illuminate too. Fog lights delay for 1 seconds.
When I indicate right, my right front fog lights illuminate too. Fog lights delay for 1 seconds.
This only happens when engine is working. If you do same steps with only ignition stage one(engine not working)
Any ideas how to fix it or it is normal?

2-
My Rear LED's illuminate for 50 seconds regardless Coming Home or Leaving Home ON.
If you close both CH and LH, after locking car rear LED's illuminate for 50 seconds.
If you press lock button for already locked car, rear LED's illuminate for 50 seconds again.

First I thought it was CH/LH's rear takes longer but it just does not like this. It actually looks cool because my main idea of choosing XENON's is how rear LED's look in Sedan.
Any ideas how to fix it?

Also I would be very grateful to people who sends their "09" Channel Maps to me. So I can compare and see what's the problem.

Here you go

ive done it, and it works as yours does but ive got a fault code that 09 central electrics are incorrectly coded. if i clear the code it comes straight back but the lights worl as intended.

Have you got the fault code on yours too?

No, I don't have any fault code.

Strange.

Did you try putting it back to normal then re-coding it?

Here's the one I followed.

Yeah thats what i did. I might swap it back and see what it says.

All appears to be working ok though

Try clearing all DTC's without Freeze Frame ticked. This is my version of the coding, basically the same.

It's a weird one, tried the clear all, comes straight back up. Changed it back to how it was, no fault !

It's whatever the up to date release is, but not the version 15 beta

I think it's 14.12
Trying installing the new Beta, can be installed alongside normal versions, and test again. This has worked for a few other mods which were causing issues. However I see that you have a 2015 car. Maybe something has changed firmware or hardware wise as this seems to work ok on 2014 cars.

Is there any way to restore default settings of Adaptations?(Especially 09 channel)

I did not backup from Applications and now I can not go back.

If you were using the "add to log" feature you can review the log file, else only by using / reviewing any notes that have been made of original settings.

Mine works MY2015,not sure how to upload video tho

Mine worked fine, I just get an error logged, but envertmthing functions correct.

I'll try the newer VCDS tomorrow

Throwing this one out there before adding it to my PDF as I could use help:

Automatic Rain Closing

09 - Central Electronics
Security Access - 16
Code = 31347
(15) Access Control 2 - Regenschliessen_ein aus = Active (Rain Closing On / Off)
(16) Access Control 2 - Regenschliessen_art = Permanent (Rain Closing Type)
(28) Access Control 2 - Menuesteuerung Regenschliessen = Active (Driver Assist Rain Closing Menu)

09 - Central Electronics
Select Long Coding Helper
Select RLFS from Dropdown Menu
Change Long Code to 06A8DD

Testing:

1) Light Switch in Auto position.
2) Wiper stalk in 1st / Auto position.
3) All windows fully open.
4) Locked car and wait for 2 mins.
5) Spray water on windscreen sensor and bam... windows close :)

Coming Home / Leaving Lights still work as before and without issue.
Comfort Opening and Closing still work as before and without issue.
Auto Lights and Wipers still work as before and without issue.

I do however have the following issues:

1) No matter what I do I cannot get the Rain Closing Menu to display. I tried an MMI reset with the menu + ok + top right selection button's, ignition on / off, nothing. In Fact there are a few menus I cannot seem to activate, including MMI Oil Level and Windows, which is strange as Menu's like Driving School, Exterior Lighting and Wipers (Rain Sensor On and Off) show up as soon as they are coded. Only TPMS needed the MMI reset so far.

2) In addition to having four windows I also have a panoramic sunroof, which does is not auto rain closing. I cannot find any additional channels for this so believe that the option to include the sunroof within "rain closing" is within the MMI Rain Menu.

For those of you with no sunroof, have fun, this works well :) ...but I was wondering if anyone with Auto Lights and a Sunroof would be willing to assist me with some testing...

As an aside, I will be publishing an updated version of my PDF tomorrow with a good number of new adaptations, including how to change both MMI and DIS Logos :)

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the speed limit (from satnav only) added to DIS ?

Obviously it won't be as accurate as the camera based version but as that falls back to using info from the satnav, I wondered if it might be possible to just always display the satnav one for people without the camera?
