My S3 Build Thread

Great plan! Saves taking the Mrs shopping and I want to pop up to them anyway to get a price on TTE 420 fitting :)

Providing she has no plans for me will defy pop up. Oh and the RS4 Valve when fitted to mine I really felt the difference cheap and great mod!

Great! I'm in at 10:00 I think need to double check though, they have a white Golf R TTE420 parked outside their workshop that they could take us out in for a spin:). Have you seen it? Guy who owned it bought himself a TTRS 500bhp now.

Sounds like the Phirm are recommended then?

Yes for sure the best garage I went to so far and only 20 min drive to get there.

Not had any noises from the box, only flutter I get is from the DV+ letting excess pressure out of the turbo.

The DSG remap 1, raises the software gearbox torque limiter from 250 to 500 allowing more torque from the updated engine map through to the wheels and 2, adjusts the auto settings in Drive and Sport mode to better align with a remapped engine. It also makes manual mode fully manual without the auto change up / down an kick down programmed into the stock map.

Now I have no experience of whether this is better than stock and hope I'm not wasting my money on the upgrade but I do hope it lives up to the expectation I have researched.

I do know that the stock Drive and Sport modes don't work as well now I have remapped the engine.

Will see if it's worth it next week lol

I have a DSG map on my S3 and would recommend it, it makes a huge difference IMO.

Long story short I was Revo 2+ with their DSG map. Had the ECU and DSG flashed back to standard then had a custom DSG map uploaded first and it made the car drive LOTS better. Custom shift points in D, S is now essentially a quarter mile mode, no kickdown in M, torque limiter raised, faster shifts, etc.

With a standard ECU map it was a huge difference, couple it with 2+ and its awesome!

Great afternoon at the Phirm, good bunch of guys really know their stuff. DSG box and Haldex both serviced, good clean oil so no probs there. DSG remapped to Stage 1. Didn't have much chance to test it out cos it ****** snowed and the traffic was crap on the drive back. But when I did get a chance to open it up it really made the car move, a lot faster gear changes and more torque through the box sweet. when it starts pulling it really goes, thanks to Jay and Tim. And a bonus with the manual mode as it does auto change down at junctions so it doesn't stall, great mod :)

Next mods are a few suspension tweaks, Nuespeed rear ARB, ALKs and an uprated dog mount bush in the garage and ready to fit if the weather holds out.........

Nice one have been thinking about getting it done at Amd for long time but wife not happy with me messing around with it to much didn't want to start her off again lol

Yeah I only have sline but with stage 1 and Amd induction Kit thought about stage 2 but will need different exhaust I have been told

Sorry thought you meant DSG map, I'm running stage 2+ software on the engine. Still think the DSG map would be better at stage 1. See what the tuners say?

H&Rs turned up today, quality bits of kit and their blue too.....

And ALKs and dog bone mount to fit too, please stop raining!!

Be sure to give us a little review if you can.

Rear bar fitted, not sure on settings though. I have used the hole furthest from the end, I think that is hard?

As far as I can remember, the hole nearest to the bar itself gives the stiffest setting,

Yep alex is right closer to the bar is the harder setting. I would set it to this if you prefer a more loose rear end. The car should rotate easier and reduce understeer on corner entry that way.

Massive fail today. couldn't get the front sway bar out, dog bone bush wouldn't go in with out pushing the the top half of the rubber bush out. That peeed me off so didn't bother with the ALKs!!!

Might talk to the Phirm....

I just asked AMD to fit mine, made the car so much more like a go kart in a good way, much more planted feel, alk's made the steering a bit more heavy n more precise, did put some eibach pro kit springs as well, defo all 3 mods r worth the money. My arb's r set on hard on back n soft on front as well, works really well. Will c ur thoughts on the mods ;)

I'm going for the same setup, mate. The rear feels good already, on rails
