Evening guys,

Just a couple of general questions - first one is, whenever I lock my car the hazard triangle stays lit for roughly 30secs before going out. Is this normal or does it indicate a fault?
Second is, I want to remove my wiper arms to re-paint but after taking the nut off each one they're still stuck solid. Is there a special way or does it just take abit of brute force?

Many thanks lads

1. Yes, this is normal
2. Gentle rocking and a little wd40 or similar help to get them off.......well it does for me and had them off several times

Hazard light does that, many a folk has asked that question and as for the wiper arms they can be a bit stubborn, i gave mine a good wiggle and yuck to remove them.

Or if they're still not playing nice then buy a 3-leg puller tool. Save you damaging the splines on the mechanism with too much twisty-yanky. All these technical terms hey!!

+1 to the puller tool makes life so much easier with these wiper arms

Ultimately this is the correct way of doing it, its caused by aluminum alloy against steel tapered shaft.

DO NOT HIT NOT ON END OF THREAD WITH HAMMER!!!!! So many have done this and you will end up with a cracked windscreen!

Also worth putting a tiny bit of copper grease or plastilube on the shafts too when you come to replace the arms, should make the job a bit easier next time round if you ever come to remove them again.
