Hi just wanted to ask is it possible to fit a dab unit in my b8 2010 (59) and also digital tv if I source them somehow from a genuine Audi instead of going aftermarket?
I have 3rd gen I belive mmi, sat nav, hdd, plays DVDs, ami. But only thing I don't have is the b&o upgrade just standard Audi I belive?
Is mine 3G high , med or low with above info?

Confusing isn't it? 3G Navigation plus, 3G+, 2G Low, 2G High. The biggest thing for me was getting to grips with Audi's insane marketing decision to follow '3G Nav Plus' with 3G+ - totally different but near as damn it the same terminology.
Sounds like you probably have the same spec as me - A4 8K Navigation Plus. It is PR code 7T6 in the options listed in the service book. It is MMI High. You should see a little dimple in the button on top of the main knob on the MMI control panel below the gear lever. It works like a joystick in Maps. I've been doing a lot of digging on retrofitting DAB to mine. It's the only thing I wanted but didn't get with my new (to me) 59 plate A4 Avant. Well, that and front parking sensors - possibly another project for another time.
Back to you your question. You have 3G Nav Plus (confusingly termed Mid by Audi in the PR code description). Basically it's the highest level you could get before 3G+ made an appearance (except the bluetooth phone prep - the phone prep you have is probably low).
Radio:
Your current Radio unit will most likely have 4F0 035 056 B part number printed on the label (look on the unit itself located in the left luggage compartment behind the cover) but if you've upgrade flashed the firmware of the MMI it may report a different letter suffix in software. After flashing to the latest firmware mine now shows as 4F0 035 056 J. The radio contains the 6 channel Amp that drives the speakers. This integrated amp is coded off when the B&O external amp is fitted. At some point in production the radio part number changed from 4F0 035 056 to 4G0 035 056 around 2012.
The DAB function is integrated into the Radio unit. To add DAB you have to replace the whole radio unit with one with a part number ending 061. There are a few to be found floating around and they range in price from £250 - £500 for the Radio unit alone. The firmware will have to flashed to match your MMI firmware version I believe. Probably best to go for a 4G0 035 061 as it's more likely to have DAB+ though I can't be totally sure of that.
Next is the DAB antenna - it's built into the side window on the Avant (which I have). Not sure about the A4 saloon. You need to add the antenna amp, wiring from the antenna amp to the solder pads on the side window, and a female FAKRA to female FAKRA cable from the antenna Amp to the DAB antenna input on the radio 4F0 035 061 / 4G0 035 061. I'm guessing also +12v but I've seen no mention of this on any forum - it could be the radio unit supplies +12v phantom power over the FAKRA connection. Another bit of the jigsaw missing. Kufatec do a an Audi original antenna module kit for DAB including the antenna amp, FAKRA cable, and connector/wires to the window pads, and a complete DAB Radio unit with antenna kit which is good news. The bad news is it's stupidly expensive compared to sourcing the parts yourself. there is an eBay ad by Huntingdon Audi for an original DAB kit. I'm not sure what's included but the pic shows a wrapped cable set with FAKRA etc. This is new and original Audi stock from the dealer so I guess it's a safe bet.
Not really been looking at the TV myself but the TV Hybrid unit is an add on. The data connection is over the MOST bus. You'll also need to replace the antenna amp with one that has TV connection (I think the rear window has that antenna) and add another FAKRA to FAKRA cable between the antenna amp and the TV unit.
All of the above is the easy bit. The difficult bit is the coding. I have no idea what the correct coding is for the DAB radio and I can't seem to find any useful info on that part of the retro fit.
How to tell the 5F that DAB is fitted - nothing.
How to turn the integrated 6 channel amplifier on or off - nothing.
How to check the EQ is set correctly for the body type - nothing. Incidentally I think this is the cause of the now famous 03175 - Invalid Data Set error following a firmware update of the MMI components - EQ for vehicle body type is overwritten with zero bits for generic EQ settings.
Assuming we can find the correct coding and get them set up correctly the next hurdle is getting component protection removed. If the MMI detects a unit has been swapped out it inhibits the audio signal every second and/or kills the left channel completely till CP is removed. Only Audi dealership or an Independent with the correct kit can remove this. No idea what it costs buts it's going to be 30 mins labour minimum, more like an hour judging by most dealers.
I'm verging on giving up and going for the Fiscon option with original Audi antenna amp / window antenna. If I find out any more complete info I'll post my retrofit experience here.
