Downpipe and sports cat ebay

ye one has the sports cat the other de cat. im tempted with it, hopefully its a correct fitment.

Makes sense, think i will go for a relentless setup tho.

Crazypete : if you get this item can you let me know how good the fitment is?

Its the righ one for the S3 yes, don't use the supplied turbo/DP gasket as it will eat itself in days... buy an OE gasket (not expensive) for that..

You can 'get away' with using the one for the 2 bolt flange but this too may leak and fall apart over time so I generally use a 300 deg high temp silicon sealant

Be aware though that quality control on these vary and on occasion they have been known to touch enough to rattle... there is a little movement on the turbo studs to help but some have found they need a strategic dent to clear

thanks, ye im tempted with it, im replacing the turbo anyway so have new gaskets and the oil feed line. also replacing my flywheel and clutch so its a perfect time to be doing it all.

i cant remember what sam was selling the relentless ones for.

just checked its an XS power DP and cat. also while im on the case, i just got quote £190 for turbo gaskets, bolts and oil feed pipe, does that sound right?

This chap on ebay is one of my friends, I have one of the downpipes withought the sports cat on my car and its really good, like tufty says the gaskets arnt the best i replaced the one at the turbo but really cant fault the quality other wise. The welds are flawless allround and the fit is spot on. If you want one I can put you in contact with him instead of going through ebay.....

Hope this helps

Hi, Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I am looking for a sports cat and wondered if your friend sells them and if you know whether they are any good and will pass the mot. Cheers!

its a down pipe... thats about it really..

Just don't use the supplied 3 bolt gasket.... and expect to have to jiggle it a bit as these cheaper DP's can be a little hit and miss on fitment...

Do you need to lower the subframe and stuff to fit a downpipe or is there enough room for it to go up, Went to one place and they said they have tio drop the subframe and steering rack to get it on.

Not to fit one like this no... but... if you expect to remove the OE one in one piece then yeah you will have to drop it... I normally cut through the flexi with an air chisel as this is the softest part... I also cut off the hanger bracket to allow the OE DP to turn to get it past the rack

Normally have to grind/chisel the CAT fixing nuts off too as they corrode badly
