yea I did see those avants ;) I did consider but I dunno.... I'm not overly keen of the rear window/boot lid....isn;t steep enough for me... it;s like some weird shallow but not shallow back xD

ummm not sure if they've gone yet. think that silver one is on AT too....don;t think if had any options on it at all :\

ahhh nice! gratz on the house buying :D !!!!!! and totally just "for now" haha!

what can I say.... hunting has been slow. nothing new really shown up, one from belgrave cars has dropped from 14750 to 14480 (or something). There's a £16k loaded car in Bridgenorth which I might see if I can test drive as I'll be up in telford from thurs-mon ;) out of budget by quite a lot but as I haven;t driven the petrol nor quattro yet might be worth it ;)


ummm had a call back from huddersfield audi, only asking for customer feedback... even though I didn't buy anything hehe

so still looking, fingers tightly crossed for some gems to pop up in the next few weeks :)

yea I'm still about xD but not much going on... hopefully something will come down in price some more :) they ain't really budging much though :\ that red one with 110k miles is looking more appealing as can prob get it for 10k flat.....but my mind says "hell no...dem miles!"

meh :p thoughts on the test drive idea? well obv it's a good idea as not driven a 2.0tfsi quattro yet (either individually or combined) but think it would be too cheeky as I'm not really intending on buying that exact one as it's like 3k over budget?

I've just returned to work after a long weekend away gaming and drinking up in telford. unfortunately I didn't get round to test driving the Audi in Bridgenorth :( .... nothing to do with me being drunk most of the time or anything xD but still had a great weekend!!!

and so back to the hunt! a few of the options have had a slight price change :D but still it's with too expensive or too many miles....there is a pretty tidy looking one on autotrader though for £12.5k, ... it has done a little over 80k miles though :\ not sure of the spec yet as it's "awaiting preperation" so just placeholding atm. probably give them a call to see what's going on.

have been thinking possibly about an avant again after going away seeing a few mates who have estates (two guys from Norway drove to telford for this event in a petrol 3series estate and it looked pretty snazzy and had loads of room. I really need to get up close and personal with the A4 again with a tape measure or show up with my pc and some other things to check the spacing with my gear in there :p

lol yea I know! now I'm being told I have to wait til the end of the month... that;s when the traded in cars will be pushed out for sales...apparently.... :( DAMNIT! It's just one wait after another.

still just looking on the websites atm, not physically phonned/inperson asked at the dealers/garages about what's come in and such.

yea, well as I said I am trying to search the regular sites but things seem to be moving slow and not much coming/going :( even had a dream with an A4 in it last night, went for a spin and then was showing off the windows up/down operation from the keyfob.... but in the dream when doing it down.... the roof also came off so I had a b8 hard top convertable xD looked sexy ;) ... I think I'm going a bit mad!!!! lol

haha chan, well.... as my sears results for the petrol only bring a few results up I have time to broaden the search a bit to see what comes up :p

yea that 3.0tdi is pretty damn beast! hell of a options pack on it, pretty much got everything (that i woudl be remotely interested in anyways)! would have to get the DPF removed on that or it would be clogged every week with my potter along commute to work every day (unless i took the car for a spin on my way home from work.... being diesel it must be economical.....right? :p ). but then in my mind i think mehhhhh it's not the s-line, it's the diesel which I said I wouldn't bother with (mileage and dpf clogging) and there's also the price.... which don;t get me wrong is awesome.... but a little too awesome.... :p why is it so cheap?! as it's private I'd be worried I'd be buying something waiting to explode xD

but then again.... the 3.0 has more power and torque...(and even more after mapping xD revo/plug in box?)... hummmm

yea The 2.0t is nice but it's just all the miles :( they all have soooo many!!!! :( need a lotto win so I/you can just buy new ;)

deadline? well I could set myself any deadline I want... doesn't mean cars are going to pop up for me though haha! more of a wait and see but ASAP sorta thing.... the moment a real serious contender pops up I'll be all over that like a fat kid on cake!!!!...mmmm cake!
 
So some time has passed and I'm still without mein Audi :( so much for this "oh just wait and there will be loads" mentality....there's very few that I can find. Not given up hope or the quest yet, I SHALL ENDEVER! even if it drives me insane! :D coming up to christmas so wondering if I could some how get one as a christmas present ;) (lol very wishful thinking right there!) but maybe a slight bump to the budget to expand the selection a bit as the ones I have seen are just out of my desired budget (well about 2k).

Time will tell......

Think I;ve been beaten by everyone buying into this "worst winter since when ever" news that's going about. I bet they won't even drive it in the snow as they'll not want to risk it :banghead: GIMMIE YO CAR!

I swear I'm cursed..... when ever I ask about a car it's been sold! Phoned up Bridgend Audi to see about taking a 2litre quattro they had for a test drive tomorrow, dude got back to me about 20 mins later telling me they had sold it.... grrrrr!!!!! seriously WTF :p
 
but I hate waiting.... I'm not the most patient person... I mean.... I like to take my time over important things (when tinkering/building) but if I want something then it can't come soon enough haha!!!! any thoughts on that £13k car I linked :)

Nice looking motor with lots of potential, but walnut inserts & surrounds!!! Yuk, IMO. Low mileage for it's age, if correct, also goes in it's favour mate, B&O is a must, it's awesome! Check out 2009 Audi A4 B8 2.0T TFSI on ebay, black car, also looks nice. Don't know if it's near to you or not. Your search continues mate.
 
hehe yea I wasn't too sure about the inserts myself but they've kinda grown on me :p (old before my time? ) Thinks it's just being a colour that isn't black/grey so a bit different to the others :) could always plastidip/replace them if they really bothered me haha! I'll have a quick search for it now, unless ya got the listing number :D oh yea, is it a quattro you saw on there?

but yea B&O is high up on the priority list (as are most things haha) as I love my music and got blown away by the system i heard In one I drove last summer. satnav would be nice too but I can take it or leave it tbh.... got my phone with google maps, or just but an aftermarket one if I really needed to in the future :p

fair play, that's not a bad looker....tuned too ;) ! missing the B&O and quattro though ;) I also don't really get people who put uprated model parts on, e.g. that had an S4 grille. but they leave the badges on.... IT'S ALL LIES!!!! :p no quibbles with the kits... just don't have hype badges detailing it's something it's not....when looking at insurance there was even a bit in the "is my car modified" section for badges stating performace/increased performance..... wonder how much premium hike I'd get for having an S4 badge....lol xD

Insurance would prob be an extra 10% with S4 badge on grill, lol. I missed the info re, no B&O, and after me saying it was a must, duh! :banghead:

hehe no worries, I appreciate the help :D yea... I do really like the look of the £13k one.... but as it's my first car I'm buying myself I want my dads approval but he poo poos anything that's not local/from audi dealership :p I'm really tempted to just say **** it and get RAC/AA to do an all over check on the car then go up on the weekend to testdrive and buy it haha. and then I wouldn;t have to worry about buying an audi.... as I'd have one! :D ha! :idea: :blackrs4:

I'd say go for it mate, but what happens if your dads right, years of " I told you so!" I'm speaking from experience, as I've been giving my daughter grief over a corsa she bought without me giving it the once over, nothing but trouble with it since she got it, pile of "sh.t". Not that I've got anything against corsa's, this one is just a pile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She'll learn though, the hard way. :sorry:
Maybe get RAC/AA check done, then take the old man to see it, that may convince him. :eyebrows:
 
oh doh! I can only imagine the frustration when your kid goes out and does that.... and exactly.... I dunno if I'd be able to handle the years of them all telling me "We/Your father told you so". He's just utterly convinced that there must be something wrong with that one as it was private, then became a garage sale and has been there a little while...mentioned to him it's still there last week and he just out right said "that's not right, must be something wrong with it...wait until one comes locally" :p to which I said mehhhhhh fine and wandered off in a huff then had a hoon on the late night country roads wishing I had quattro xD
 
B&O would be nice but not a must and I find the standard system really good, and more than up for the job in the A4. I love my music and I had the Bose system in my last S3 and I see the standard A4 speaker set-up to be just as good!

The problem is the extras are so expensive new, that not many people specc'd B&O AND Sat Nav etc so makes the task of finding the spec you want, even harder. I would have liked a Quattro but after coming from an S3 and numerous Scooby's before that, I can honestly say, I haven't missed the 4x4. The A4 grips the road really well, even when I'm chucking it around twisting Highland roads! I spent 9 months looking for the A4 I wanted. 2.0TFSi's are not as common as the TDI's and trying to get one with Quattro (which I couldn't find!) with the S line Spec and the Toys I wanted (Satnav, MMI) and then on top of that, the colour I wanted......well it just makes the task of finding the perfect car even harder.
In the end had to go to the other end of the country to get my car. So I would say search the WHOLE of the UK Audi Dealer network and search nationally in Pistonheads and Autotrader and hopefully you will eventually find the car you want. BTW, my local dealer in Inverness told me that the demand for A4's is so great, that they even get buyers from as far away as London buying from them!
So just try widening your search. Even leave different dealerships your details and let them know what you are your after. Alot of the time cars, come and go without ever getting advertised on the dealer network or websites. And Salesmen like to get the cars out the door as fast as possible and love having buyers lined up! (trust me I know - I used to be one!). So Happy Hunting and Good Luck! :thumbsup:

MMM the standard system is pretty good but I've heard some criticising that it lacks in the bass department (some retrofitting aftermarket subs/amps? ) which would blow as I love a bit of the bass! not like chavtastically loud but I like my songs to have power behind them :D

thanks for the advice though, It's pretty much what I'm doing currently leaving the search to national and looking on the audi site, local franchise, autotrader, piston heads, ebay etc etc.... but yea... they are pretty uncomman and ones with the options even more so.

I think I've drumed it into my head so much now that if I did drop the B&O & quatto (more so the quattro ;) ) that I would be more likely to regret the purchase and wish I held out longer.

I've left my details with the sinclair franchise here in south wales but as I've previously stated....we seem to never EVER get petrol ones down here, first one I've seen on B8 platform and it's £20k+ :p

I don't mind so much traveling to get a car...but it's the thought of say an 8 hour round trip just to come back empty handed that bothers me. but my dad is adamant that I wait for a local one :( like that's ever going to happen any time soon!
 
ok. another thought and update. again... every damn car I like vanishes! so constantly leaving me with ever increasingly expensive options.

so now, kinda going back to the original plan of looking for a B7 model for around £6k, then with the left over money... modding the pants off it :D so I'll probably be less active on the b8 side of things (not that I was much help anyway haha) but thanks for all the advice and conversation everyone :D who knows.... something may pop up and I'll be back before you know it... haha!
