Hi my first post here so apologies if quite a basic question!

I have a week 6 build (just brought forward from week7 :0) so projected delivery begin of March) on the following

SB Sport 1.4TFSI COD Black Pearl, SE Suspension, 17" 5 arm kinetics

But still waivering over the sport suspension versus the SE.

Any idea when final date will be for any further changes?

thanks

Great forum by the way

Welcome to the forum Dazzaiki.

Configuration is locked around 4 weeks before build week, so yours may have been locked already. You'll need to get in touch with your dealer ASAP to see if changes are still possible.

John.

Are you just wavering or do you really want to change? I suppose there is a chance that even if the date isn't locked yet the change could push the build back anyway so unless you really want to change it's possibly best to stick with your original suspension decision (for which I'm sure you already thought about long and hard) if you want your current build date guaranteed.
For what it's worth, SE suspension does work very nicely.

Many thanks both.

Just been advised that build spec is indeed locked, therefore decision made for me!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with SE suspension

Thanks Cemerson, I agree from the comfort point of view but was wondering if it would be preferable from a sportier look aspect.

However I think its only a 10mm difference in ride height so minimal difference at the end of the day and will probably upgrade at some point to S Line in future

Being my first A3 it probably makes it even more difficult to make those final build/spec decisions

I think it depends on several factors - how you like to drive (cruising, occasional blast, or always on the limit), how much driving you do and what type of roads you drive on.

With the amount of traffic on the roads theses days and static/mobile speed cameras - I have become a cruiser :(

I drive over 20k miles a year on mostly bumpy B roads which are busy. My Golf has sports suspension with 17 inch tyres (16 inch now for winter tyres). Most days I sit in my car for over 3 hours. I have come to realise that I have the wrong suspension for over 50% of the roads I drive. And the suspension I have is really only useful for less than 5% of the way I am forced to drive.

On certain country roads, I actually have to drive slower than my last car. Because it is really uncomfortable to drive at the same speed my last car was comfortable to drive at. I have to slow down for sleeping policemen. In my last car I could comfortably do 30mph over them.

At the beginning I used to look forward to driving my 'sporty car' every day because of the way it goes. Now, especially on the days I have to drive over 5 hours, I don't look forward to driving it because it is just not comfortable.

Wants and needs! I wanted a sporty car, but I need a comfortable car. I am really, really looking forward to changing my car. I love the way it goes, but it is just not comfortable.

Now can anyone recommend me a reasonably sporty comfortable car?

Hi,

I was informed that my 1.4 COD is a week 4 build and that I would get it some point in March. Have you been told that you'll get yours beginning of March?

Regards,

Mark

Mine is build week 3 and the dealer has said I can pick up 1st March, so long as there are no delays. I'm only down the M4 from you to Mark - I'm Cardiff.

Mon motors aka Cardiff or Bristol Audi ?

Must put our dealer over this. I remember when I ordered my VW - 1 week to build, 2 weeks for delivery. Over 9 MONTHS from order to delivery!

Great company IMHO . Seem to employ decent folks too!

Couldn't agree more! They've been really good to me. This will be my first audi to! Everyone makes such a fuss when you're there.

There was an original mix up with my car to, it was built nearly 2 months earlier than expected. Basically not allowing me to add hold assist. So they scrapped my order and rebuilt the car as it was kind of their fault for not keeping me informed on the progress. I was happy to wait (tied in on a pcp currently).

Is that Cardiff or Bristol. Who are you dealing with? We're on our 15th (I think!)

Yes, McAudi i was quite surprised when found out it had firstly shortened from week to wk 6 and then delivery beginning of March. Maybe because i have quite a basic build and not much in the way of extras that helps? NB. Not even getting the wheels upgrade now because too late to change!

Getting mine through West London Audi (Sytner).

It seems very random from order to order. I'm sure the long wait will be worth it though.

It's Cardiff Audi I've purchased with! John is the salesman. He's relatively new I believe
