Hi all and nice to meet you all
I ordered my S3 back in December and I expect to take delivery in March.
I am very happy about this but I am a bit concerned about a thing.
I previously owned a BMW Z4 E89 2.5 inline six, engine was the classic N52, aspirated engine and indirect fuel injection. Declared power was 204HP but I have to say that my father's 2.0T petrol Q3 with 170HP is more involving to drive.
The BMW engine, btw, was wonderful sounding, and with a decent thrust after 4000 rpm. Gearbox was an "old" 6-speed ZF torque converter. Good stuff but a bit retro-technology. BTW I got great satisfaction from that car.
Sorry for the off-topic, I am not here to sing a love song to Audi competitors
My point is: now I moved to the S3: a brand new engine with overwhelming figures (the torque especially...), an AWD traction and a state-of-the art gearbox. But let me think that from my previous engine, this inline 4 turbo engine, transversally mounted may appear a step backward to my simple-minded eyes.
Question (finally): do you think the S3 engine could be defined a "rougher" engine compared to my Z4 one? What do you think I will loose despite the gain in horsepower and torque?
