2013 Audi S3

Even a standard car with no options and he free paint and interior gets a good discount

34717ce3d98b2c78bf82f1af5f1906d7.jpg

not when I ordered. some ordered before me could get 9% in kings lynn but anywhere near me forget it, 6% was the best, some said 0% - dtd and orangewheels were 6% when I ordered

Yeah cos it was all new, now they will in some places, and in 12 month time when all they hype has gone there will be better discounts no doubt,

I recall someone mentioning that the footrest was going to be introduced on RHD vehicles for those taking delivery of 14 plate S3's, anyone know if this is happening?

Hi I received an e-mail from my dealer advising that mine will have the aluminium footrest which is due to be built week 5 for March delivery but I'm not getting my hopes up to be honest - I assume no one has S3 on the key either

I'd imagine a few happy people if that's the case but also some unhappy ones too lol

Not wrong, just been told mine is build week 3...... Woohoo now so will see if mine gets it or is it just the autos?

Autos does make more sense as the footrests are bigger and there's more room - This is a copy of the e-mail sent to my dealer that I received a copy of

"Audi Sales called re – S3 – she has had confirmation that the Pedals and Foot rest come in brushed Steel" - Of course they could just be reading that out of the brochure

Had no response from the dealer regarding the Key - Someone on here did say that it didn't have S3 on it even though brochure states MMI, DIS and key

Dealer has just advised that I'm now confirmed at build week 5 - So barring no changes to that date or shipping delays should be a go for the 1st March - Get in there!!

She's also checking regarding S3 not on the key as the demo didn't and she confirms that the brochure states it should - You never know

Could end up with aluminium footrest and S3 on key - Imagine that like the brochure states - Still not expecting either though

For the people being quoted week 5 build - how long a go did you order?

Want to order soon S3 SB in next few weeks but wondering if it's still 16 weeks odd for a build like I was quoted back in October last year.

Many thanks guys

I ordered on the 27th of November. I think it will depend on who you order with.
I used Crewe Audi

I ordered last week of September and wanted 1st of March which I thought would be ok but a week after was told build week 9 has since come in to 5 and is now confirmed

like others have said though it does seem to depend on the dealer allocation - I use Chelmsford Audi

I ordered 3rd December and got build week 6.

Ordered end of August and told November build slot, then magically changed to build week 7 in February, for March 1st collection, 6 months to build a flippin car, a good one a that though! You could build a yacht in 6 months!

Ok cool. Thanks. So looks like 12 weeks. I went to a big dealer in Swindon and seems to be long lead times as they sell a ton of A3's for company cars. Thinking a smaller dealer might be the best bet.

Sorry for the questions but what have people done about trade in's ? Have dealers given people a valuation there and then and used any equity to work out a deal? Or have they said they are not interested in working it all out until the new car is delivered? Have approx £1000 of equity which will need to make a finance deal work.

So on that basis as I have a trade in I'm going to speak with local dealers so Orange wheels / Drive the deal etc are not really an option. What discounts have people being getting ? DTD says approx 7% off (approx £2500 on a £35,000 car). I know this probably won't be on the cards at my local dealer - but what can I expect?

Really sorry about the questions - just want to be prepared as possible before talking to these salesman (which I really hate).

Thanks in advance

I went to my dealer to buy my 4th S3 off them in 6 years. Cash job trading in my 8P as done in all 3 previous occasions. Took what the broker were willing to give me for my 8P and the discount offered on the 8V.

Local dealer offered me 500 on top of what the broker offered and only 500 pounds off the new 8V. What an insult! They felt that with the few S3 allocations that they get that they could maximise profit by selling the 8V to some limp schmuck unwilling to haggle discount. We kissed and said bye. In 2 minds now whether to turn up to my local dealer in my new S3 for its first oil change or just go somewhere else? Don't really want to give them a penny after that unsatisfying returning customer experience. Any thoughts guys?

Never told them I sold the car in the end so the free invite to the Audi showcase event to test drive an RS5 unaccompanied was an offer I couldn't refuse.

It's all dealer independent. I emailed a covering letter to 8 dealers mainly in the south east stating my position with the 8P and what I wanted for it and how much I wanted off the 8V using the broker's discount as a benchmark. Just waited for them to come back, a little tweaking here and there and a deal was done with stepping out the front door!

Definitely depends on dealer and the allocation they have forward reserved. I even took issue of different delivery times up with Audi Uk. Ordered mine in June from Jardine Audi ( multiple Audi outlets throughout Uk) in June 13 last update build week 4. Check dealer ownership / listen to recommendations on here would be my advice to all.

I bought my S3 from Crewe Audi. Which salesman did you have?

Hi mate, it's James Dale, he's done me a great deal. Are you on A5oc?

As for trade ins, Crewe agreed a minimum equity to ensure I never had to pay more.

I ordered mine on the 28th December. Still waiting for a build date but to be fair the salesman is off and it's been new year 😔

Yes James is good, i always deal with Dave Clewes though but they are all good lads at Crewe. I am on A5OC but i have been banned at the moment for insulting someone who doesn't exist.

I was banned on there once too Mr Mad ;-)

What were you banned for, my ban is laughable.

I am glad i am no longer on there as there are some complete muppets who just post crap. This site however is the opposite, it is full of info and good members, no Kermits or Fozzys here. I am glad i got rid of my A5 and bought an S3.

Oh yes i have just bought a new camera so i can take some pictures soon and post them up.

That doesn't exist? Lol that's a talent lol

Yeah Crewe are great it was Chris I had dealt with before. Got my A5 there and my dads Q5, but of a trip but worth it. There gave me guaranteed equity, good discount and a few freebies :)

I was offed a price for my car, and then told the monthly payments would cover the deprecation over the 5 months wait!

But, as I have done the last few times, I just checked the trade price with a few dealers. All I will do is ring round and try and sell it a few weeks before I pick the S3 up. Never had any problems off-loading the past few cars (all under 2 year old)

Hi all, just signed up here to get some peoples opinions. I'm currently in an 07 plate s3, purchased brand new. Have been out for a couple of drives in the new s3 and really like it. Am going down to m dealer tomorrow and am thinking of ordering the saloon version as I really like the look of it. Just wondering if anyone else has ordered the saloon version.

Hi all and nice to meet you all :)

I ordered my S3 back in December and I expect to take delivery in March.
I am very happy about this but I am a bit concerned about a thing.

I previously owned a BMW Z4 E89 2.5 inline six, engine was the classic N52, aspirated engine and indirect fuel injection. Declared power was 204HP but I have to say that my father's 2.0T petrol Q3 with 170HP is more involving to drive.
The BMW engine, btw, was wonderful sounding, and with a decent thrust after 4000 rpm. Gearbox was an "old" 6-speed ZF torque converter. Good stuff but a bit retro-technology. BTW I got great satisfaction from that car.

Sorry for the off-topic, I am not here to sing a love song to Audi competitors :D

My point is: now I moved to the S3: a brand new engine with overwhelming figures (the torque especially...), an AWD traction and a state-of-the art gearbox. But let me think that from my previous engine, this inline 4 turbo engine, transversally mounted may appear a step backward to my simple-minded eyes.

Question (finally): do you think the S3 engine could be defined a "rougher" engine compared to my Z4 one? What do you think I will loose despite the gain in horsepower and torque?

What???

The only thing you will loose is your old BMW!!, no loss there!!

I do get this question.

I have a 3.0i E85 Z4 manual and I love the simplicity and rasp from the n/a straight 6 (and how economical it is too!).

The s3 engine and gearbox (assume you are referring to stronic) is a different beast.

Let characterful but not a bad noise. Turbocharged so different power delivery but a huge torque wave. Stronic gearbox is fab, possibly not quite as nice as the new AW 8 speed auto BMW are fitting these days but still, it's very very good.

For those wondering how long it takes, I ordered 15/10/2013 and it's in Grimsby now, so I'm looking at <3 months. I think I've been lucky though!

I ordered mine on the 8/10/13 managed to get it delivered to me in 2 months, was originally quoted delivery in April though....

Looks to dark for Daytona...looks closer to the old Lava Grey

Interesting. Without configuring wonder if lava grey is still available for any model from the standard Audi swatch and not exclusive?

Long time viewer here - thanks for all your invaluable input posters!

Ordered S3 Sportback manual yesterday (having test driven both, preferred the manual). Roll on the end of April...
