Changing front wishbone bushes

Had a search can't really find much on the 8p side of things.

Has anyone successfully changed the front wishbone bushes on the car themselves? I have powerflex versions for both front and rear bushes on the front wishbones. I dont have a ramp so it'll be done with the car on stands. I've got a wide selection of tools, and the guys opposite where i work have a hydraulic press but that depends on whether the wishbone comes off completely or not (depending on how easy or hard that is). Any pointers?

Easy enough to do just time consuming and a ****ty job as bushes always are, they will come out in a vice but a press makes it a lot easier.

The problem you will find as that you won't be able to do them back up on the car without something to compress the rear console bush as the mountings will be half a hole out. I use a large f-clamp to compress them when refitting.

Other than that they're easy peasy really. Just a matter of sticking with it.

Just had both my front & rear bushes changed on my front wishbones.

Cost two-three hours labour and a lot less hassle.

Also, don't forget to have your wheel alignment checked/corrected after.

I spent a couple of hours messing around trying to remove mine before conceding and going to a garage to have mine changes. Charged me £50 plus parts.

Seems reasonable. think i might just get some quotes. I like getting stuck in when it comes to things like this. Only way to properly learn

Am i right in saying the subframe needs to be lowered? Would u able to give me a rough guide?

I should add, then I had the tracking done for about £40.
