Hi All,

Has anyone got light weight buckets seats? eg tt sport recaros or similar, im thinking of changing and wondering how well they fit?

I have sparco revs fitted in my s3 and fit quite nicely although I spent ages trying to find some off the shelf sub mounts and had no joy so i bolted them to some box section through the floor. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1370630445584675

Nice one! Do they sit you lower in the car, change driving position and view?

Those harnesses are more dangerous than wearing a three point seat belt.

I wouldn't be flashing them around the internet in a hurry...

Spine compression in 3....2.....1....

harnesses mounted low down like that, as you crash and your weight moves forward, with the harness at a 45 degree angle, it'll extert a vertical force on your shoulders as well as a horizontal restraint force.

Worst case scenerio, that's genuine and has happened, is that the seat back collapses downwards, and your spine is compressed and broken.

Enjoy your dinner folks

What Prawn said.

"Bucket seats" need a harness, harnesses need a cage. If you don't have a cage, don't fit either.

Anyway, enough misery!

Seats, as you asked my good man.

How they're mounted properly:

RMD Maximum Protection (Haha - *** yea right!?!) from Rally Design:

They didn't end up so well. Anyone spot the issue?

Don't buy cheap seats people:

Then it was time for some proper seats!

And that's my bit about bucket seats in an 8L :)

Lovely job! regarding setup the TT quatro sport comes with recaro pole position seats as standard! Will any spine crushing occur?

Yes they do, but no role cage.. So should be safe with the tt seats if i can grab a set. Depends if they just bolt in or need the work you have put in. Might just stick with my heavy R32 setup ;)

Holy **** Prawn those seats look incredible, i bet they feel even better to sit in! I bet theyre good for checking your blind spot too haha.

I back up what the guys have said regarding anchoring points. I have seen awful yokes out on track days that should never ne allowed out. S3 seats weight a shocking amount, I took mine out during a detail on mine last year and I couldn't believe how heavy they were.
