I ordered mine the 3rd week of feb and found out last week that my build week is first week of June! Been such a long wait but I hope it's worth it!!

have you had much communication with the dealer?? if so what have they said?? i dont want to keep barraging them with calls but im soooo impatient

Not much contact, bit disappointed really, my last 3 emails are still awaiting a response.

No not really the few "weekly" updates I've had are a few emails every now and then but there really isn't much the dealers can do from what I've heard and read. I am hopefully to be getting it at the end of June now so finally getting there

My dealer said that he gets given a build week as soon as the order is placed, so strange that some people don't have some. It's pretty bad that you haven't got one after that one - I'd send a firmly worded email to the head of business about it!

I had no build date either ordered 28th Feb with our transport company and last week said its ready! so picking it up tomorrow so less than 3 months for me :)

1.4 tfsi S-Line with B&O

Just phoned dealer for second time this week and left message for him to ring, shortly after received order print out via email and then a phone call. Car left factory today and is on its way, WTF not even a build slot given. So how happy am I, should have it within a month I expect. To say I'm happy is a understatement as I wasn't expecting the car untilnSeptember. Whoopee !!!

well you never know yours maybe on its way, I would contact your dealer for an update if i were you. I would think cars are made in batches of certain colours and yours may well be in the same batch, I'm sure i will be corrected if wrong. I did notice someone else on here was expecting there Daytona S-Line soon and I did wonder or hope mine would be part of the same batch.

Thanks for the Mini meet invite, but a bit far for me as I am in Liverpool.

I think Audi have enough paint shops that batching by colour is unnecessary for them...

Its just talk at the moment but there is sometihing a bit surreal (and a great photo opportunity) about seeing half a dozen or more of the same make, model, age and colour of car on the road at the same time (aka the current autotrader advert)

Audi certainly do not batch produce by colour. When I visited the factory in Ingolstadt the spray robots were painting different colours following each other. Mind you when I visited the A1 plant in Brussels the only cars on the final production were either black or white but only because that is all customers seem to be ordering!

When I was in Felixstowe just before my current A3 was delivered I watched Audi cars being unloaded from a ship and just about everyone was either black or white with just the odd different colour here and there. Made me glad I'd ordered Silver.

borderline call that one as it is week 22 this week so not sure if MY2014 starting or after week 22

that was my thoughts to be honest, it does say on the docs the dealer sent "confirmed week" and " original build week" 201323 so I take it build week was 23.

Wow, bet you are over the moon. From no contact to car being built, how does that work?
i had to push my dealer to get a build week of 32, after 6 weeks of silence.
aghhhhhh roll on September!

to be honest the dealer didn't know how, but he said it just happens sometimes. Good luck with yours.

I still haven't got a build week. Deposit paid 27th April. Order placed with Audi 8th May. I've been pestering the salesman loads. I'm getting a bit concerned that it's going to be after the end of September when the Audi PCP offer expires.

Hi

Just an update for you. After a bit of persuasion the dealer has finally given me a build date. Build week 32 which is mid August so car should be here September. I actually had to ask 3 times before he would give me one. He said he doesnt like giving build dates as times can fluctuate quite dramatically and not normally for the better. that however, is not what ive been hearing on some threads. any way something to look forward to now!!!!!

Being updated on your order progress is part of the excitement of ordering a new car, why your dealer thought it best to keep this from you is beyond me! They always made it clear to me the dates change, and it's only ever confirmed when it's locked into the build queue (usually about 4 weeks before it's built). Glad you managed to pin him down and cough up the date :)

Good point mj, totally agree. My dealer is like the one jackinthebox has, had to phone 3 times even to get through. Mine also week 32, just praying it doesn't slip. There does appear to be a lot of variance in how often the delear comminicates with his/ her customer. Why should this be?

I suspect some dealers just lose the sense of excitement and occasion after they've ordered their 162nd car, and it's no surprise to them that the build date keeps moving, probably barely seems worth bothering the customer about in their mind. They forget that for the customer this is likely the second most expensive purchase of their life, and one that is usually made after a lot of thought.
Members of family and friends that I know of in the car trade have literally no excitement over new cars, as they get to drive them every day. I find the younger salesman tend to be the most enthusiastic as they are still new to the job. Other salesman forget that it's their job to share your excitement.....
