Noticed i sent the alarm of today, and to my surprise there was the quietest little beeping at the back of the car. I expected the horn or something but this noise would not alert anyone but Dogs at it is that quite,

Can anyone help me out here

Yep mines the same. Think that's how they are. If you let it keep going it does get annoying but that's about it.

Aye, feeble indeed but it only needs to put doubt into a theives mind to make them not hang around!

That's how they are - I don't know how Audi are allowed to call it an alarm.

When my previous A4 TDi got broken into on the drive the alarm was so quiet we thought it was my phone beeping upstairs!

Doesn't the siren have its own battery? Would that be the cause of the battery never being replaced?

mine actually sounds louder inside the vehicle than it does outside
im not 100 per cent but someone once said they had fitted the siren on the inside of the vehicle not the outside

Yep, its just the way they are im afraid.

I have often thought about taking the alarm apart & wiring in a relay to an additional alarm siren - it hasn't materialized as of yet!

surely it can be linked to the horn as my horn sounds like a dam freight train

Im sure there is an option on VCDS that you can unlock to sound the horn when the alarm is triggered.....

Dont recall seeing one but always though it could be improved.

i had this on the 80 cabriolet. when i locked the car a short sharp horn noise would alarm. got embarrassing coming home late night and alerting the mrs when i got in, so changed a few digits on a code on vag-com to get rid of it

This just gives a single beep of the ALARM horn, not the car horn. Have it coded on mine.

Hi everyone. First post for me here but a frequent visitor.
Just thought that i should share with you all how i solved the problem with the horribly weak alarm siren on the B7.
Just bought myself a second OEM siren and placed it in the engine compartment. Then ran a wire from the stock siren in the back to the new one. Hooked it up to the + and - on the battery.
The difference is like night and day.
Uploaded a before and after video on the tube so you can hear the difference.
