Sounds good, where you going for the remap? :) x

A guy in Lowestoft runs a company called tune it up. Heard lots of good things about him and all his maps are custom. He's coming for a chat an to read my Ecu to get an idea of what I want from my map. His first questions were 'uprated dv rev d?' 'Cam follower done' 'coil pack recall done'? He knows his stuff so excited to get a map that will be tweaked to what I want.. 😍

Roll on tuesday James, let us know how you get on. :) x

Thanks Sandra will do.. Been toying with revo, shark and bluefin but with an older car I think I want something that works 100% for the car.. If it needs toning down it can be.. Chap has done a lot of audi's and tbh he loves writing his own maps so time will tell I guess x

He's asked all the right questions there,so I hope you get the result you're after.

Cheers Alex have to say I was impressed with his questions he wanted to know service up to date plus the other questions so to me if he knows the tfsi niggles i feel better about it.

I don't know much about maps but his take on doing custom remaps and tailoring it to what I want makes me feel more confident.

I don't want anything to aggressive as the car is 72000 miles down the line just iron out some flat spots and give it a little more booooommmm

Right had my ECU read today, no fault codes we like that ;-)

Sat in the car and talked about what i wanted from the map. Really impressed with Nick's knowledge of the TFSI engines. Even showed me some of his custom code for other vehicles, damn that looks complicated!!

What I liked about the idea of custom remapping is the fact its not just upping everything by 5-10% its about looking at the specifics and changing indivdual coding for an each car. Audi for the TFSI alone have apprently got a number of different ECU's.... He had mine and 3 others to read in Norwich today so feel really at ease and will be 100% letting him do the map. I will update further once the map is ready for testing. Nick's had some really strong rolling road results and alot of good customer feedback so am hoping for some good gains not just in terms of power but also the flat spots that we all know plague the smaller TFSI engine.

i'll be keeping my eye on this lol, what's he chargin?
<BR><BR>Really reasonable with no rolling road but plenty of road testing as he is keen to get it 100% bang on £240 until the new year price hike after that.... <BR><BR>I've really been watching this guy for a while now and talking to him alot and he seems to really know his stuff especially on the TFSI and 1.8t engines. I know he swaps codes with other big tuners I forget their names now but they look at each others maps for new idea's and with vehicles they dont have as much experience with.. good thing is he loves the TFSI 2.0 :)

that sounds great... love custom maps... none of this generic rubbish. Best way! let us know how you get on. Will check him out.

Well it's booked for next Saturday morning.. Map had been tweaked and its ready to go on the car... So off to Lowestoft next week to get it loaded on followed by some testing! Heard good things from a guy who's just had his mk5 tfsi golf done by Nick, he's gone for quite an aggressive map, he said other than the wheels spinning a lot it's great! Thank god for Quattro. Will update this next week with a follow up :)

Well what can I say I haven't stopped smiling! Remap is amazing the car feels like it doesn't want stop pulling. No more flat spots at around 4k. It feels normal to about 2500rpm then you can fee the surge and it builds and powers through the range. No clutch slip... Really impressed with Nick Lawrence at tuneitup he is a bit of OCD about making sure eveything is spot on but I love that he cares about each car he tunes. Top draw stuff for anyone in and around Norfolk or Suffolk I couldn't recommend him enough.

Stage 1+??? Maybe that's for another day!

Bit too far out for me ;/ but i'm really lookin for a remap myself around the Milton Keynes area, don't really know where to go.

Speak to nick anyway he's got other agents around the uk that will load and test the map but he will create the files... Defo worth asking I paid 240 which is really reasonable and the amount if praise he has had from other vag owners. But it is going up in the new year.

I should also say he did me an a and a b map in case the a was too powerful.. Emmmmm lets just say b didn't get a look in :p

Interesting thread, thanks for the info...

Hows the fuel consumption changed, if at all?

Mpg is a touch better. Drove back from Lowestoft and I was pushing it all the way and seeing figures around 26 when I would have seen 24 at a push before.. Mines a Quattro tfsi so mpg is poor anyway
