Hi all, it's been a while since I was last on. Only have a year left on my finance but have decided to keep the car when it's out to save for a house. I will be looking to do some things to it to give that new car feel. Does anyone have any suggestions what I could do? I was thinking wheels and optic grille and all bulbs changed. Any help is welcome. Cheers.

Pics of car would help, interior and exterior.
Personally when I wanted to look for new mods I would check what guys have written in their signature as lots of mod ideas come from there.
Then there is always the age old phrase you really shouldn't be thinking about as it will get you into trouble in so many different ways... "I wish I had... In my A3" :ninja:

You defo need the black grille and fog grilles greg! PM me as I can source these for you.

What about an RNS-E (or another head unit) and bluetooth?

Thanks for the reply mate, i just read your blog and loved your straight through exhaust. How much was you for just the exhaust?

Would love a nice new head unit but i'm afraid of the price and wouldn't know where to start with this coding buisiness. How much would i be looking at for a decent unit?

Well the RNS-E are around the £300-£500 mark depending on which version you get and I believe are a straight swap with what you have already.

Ash has a nice Pioneer unit in his A3 which is probably better value (£300ish I think) but i'm not sure it does nav.

its not around that ive got the same headunit as Ash and it cost me more than that =D but deffo worth it, you connect your iphone to headunit and you can load tomtom from your phone and its fully functional from the headunit.

Definitely lowering and spacers if you want to keep the wheels :o.k:

I think the new bi-xenons lights would make your car feel new again.

AP coilovers, Whiteline Anti Lift kit and rear anti roll bar. Spacers all round.

Then a 4 wheel alignment and it will drive like a completely different / new car.

Coilovers and spacers sound good. What's the anti lift kit?

I think they would too lol but just how much would that conversion cost? A couple grand?

im not sure but your is already facelight should be a straight swap unlike me ive got a 2007 so would need new bonnet, bumper, wings and some other stuff.

Im sure someone will give you details, message ash187 he knows his stuff and is very helpful, also he could install it for you and source the bi-xenons

Bi xenons would set you back around a grand, maybe a bit less which is including fitting

After seeing the pics of the car I would say tints, flat bottom wheel and maybe lowering for now.

Very nice car mate, I would keep it as it until I'm bored. Then over time my list would be: Bi-xenons, Lower + spacers, RS3 grille, RNSE, Sideskirts.

Job done

What's the anti lift kit?

To keep the front wheels pinned to the ground when you corner at higher speeds. As the weight transfers to the outside wheel mid corner it keeps the inner wheel more firmly planted to the tarmac as the soft bushings give too much compliance (and therefore understeer).

Thanks for all the replies folks really
Helpful. Think I'm going to go for the black optic grilles, coilovers, spacers and eventually a new head unit. These should keep me going for a while.

I'd recommend some sway bars to go along with your coilovers--get that car handling really nicely in the curves :)
