Boost problems A3 TQS GT2871

So what gain can I get going the full monty with high revs? Al need solid lifters won't I? And hydraulics and what's your thought on high lift cams?

dude.... one step at a time fella..

for your frame turbo, you wont have the flow to want or need revs...
bigger frame unit, more flow, more revs... then the rest to go with that..

maybe concentrate on getting what you have running right first?

Ahh I see, I know the turbine is a .86 a/r not .64.
Al get the map sorted by bill sometime next month I hope then Am going to collect all my parts for the winter re-build.
Av got 3rd synchro going to do may as well do it all at once!
I just need to know what's the best for this turbo.
Al have a look threw the forum!
Please dont laugh but has anyone pit a vortech on these for bottom rev range?

What is it you are after exactly??? this thread is getting very confusing and you haven't fixed you current setup as yet lol...

Nobody has done a supercharger conversion on an 8L on this forum that I am aware of so you would be the first... I would imagine you will need to go standalone ecu for that though as the ME7 will not be suited to a supercharger...

Big turbo's aren't that bad to drive... I have a GT3071 and its fine... yeah its 'laggier' than a K04 but when you are on it you don't notice and pulls like a train...

Yea sorry bout that! Lol
It's just bit Laggy round town but then I don't want to sacrifice the high end big numbers!
It was just a thought. Ta

the low comp pistons you have won't be helping and a bit more timing advance lower down may be possible to make it feel better around town... I don't have that issue tbh... mines fairly lively all things considered...

Yea al get bill to sort it out then over winter al get the head and syncro sorted!
Al defo sell the stainless exhaust valves and go inconal!
Av found the valve guides and they are supertech manganese bronze are these any good as mike recond the oem ones are better?
These valves I have got are nitrated does that make any difference?

No idea on the supertech guides as never used them personally but OEM ones are fine... can't see the supertech being any worse...

Nitrated inlets are fine...

you are chasing the unachievable.... it will be laggier on a 0.86 hotside than on a 0.64 one...
stroker will recover spool, and billet turbos will remain compact and deliver flexible power and torque delivery...

Cheers bill for the advice of checking out the oil pick up!
Av cleaned her out and now I carn't even hear the hydraulics at 2k! Well quiet!
I checked the vvt and the grooves don't look bad! If they are grooved by manufactures ad say it's those grooves!
So with the head: Keep nitrated inlets, Get inconnel exhausts!
So do I just need new oem springs with these valves?
Do I need new lifters?
What colets do I need?
Do I need to get the large port head checked out as the timing belt snapped and all valves was bent!
Some of the bearings are polished a tad!!
Mike said the guides will be ok to use because none of the valves were snapped!
Can someone start me a new thred on this head topic please.

Yes

What colets do I need?
super tech triple groove valves are designed to use OEM parts... you can use your existing springs and collets...

Do I need new lifters?
Not unless yours are no good...

Do I need to get the large port head checked out as the timing belt snapped and all valves was bent!
Get it checked to make sure its not warped or cracked and get the guides checked as no doubt the exhaust ones will need replacing... relap all the valves back in and use new stem seals...

Can someone start me a new thred on this head topic please.
You can do that yourself :)
