hi
iv recently stumbled across this forum because iv been having issues with my car. im experiancing a loss of power at 70mph to which the car goes into " limp mode " , upon restarting the car the power is back as such, engine management light stays on though .
i recently took it to a garage to have the fault codes read , they read as follows
p0102-mass air flow low
p0671-cylinder 1 glow plug electrical fault
p0674-cylinder 4 glow plug electrical fault
p0234-boost pressure sensor ( overboost )
p2185-engine temp to high
Through searching through google , iv had spent hours reading up on these faults as such , to which i need advising please .
iv read that a faulty MAF could cause the issues im having with power , but at the same time iv read that " overbosting " can be caused by the vanes in the turbo being blocked , iv recently been to an audi indy to which they told me it would be my turbo & they want to take my turbo off & send it to be reconditioned , then refit it at a price of £700 , this seems to be cheap compared to a new turbo ( around £1000 just for the turbo ).
i suppose my question is , should i go down the route of replacing my MAF & BOOST SENSOR first before getting the turbo reconditioned as i can obtain both sensors from GSP for around £70 and i feel the replacent of these sensors i could do myself .
has anybody any experaince with these faults & what was the outcome ?
the engine temp to high thing , i think its my fans they seem to be working all the time yet the car temp gauage stays half way & never overheats , temp sensor maybe or a new radiator fan ?
thanks in advance
Knockoff
