I'm the not so proud owner of a 58 S3, having only had the car a couple of weeks i took it for a service at Audi Portsmouth, then got the dreded phone call "Sir theres a slight issue with your car, would you like to come and pick it up"

Turns out there is an issue that prevents the service light being turned off and will cost me 700 pounds to replace the dash to rectofy the issue.... So i said is this a joke, your going to charge me 700pounds to turn off a light... but he didnt see the funny side.

The issue described by Audi is: Immobiliser control unit Faulty j285.
Ive purchaced a cheeap ODBII lead in an attempt to do a full scan but but get 'No response from controller, i know the lead works as ive scanned other 8p Cars.

Any suggestions/Help would be great?

Hi Ryan, welcome to ASN. Love the car. Enjoy the forum. :) x

Ryan

Audi Belfast for some reason are incapable of turning off my service light. I tell them not to worry because within seconds of logging VCDS, I am able to turn it off.

I do not know why they can't do it but to try charge you £700 is a bit OTT!!

Hi Ryan

Sorry to here this mate, I am travelling to Portsmouth a week on Saturday to see the mother in law.
If your prepared to wait, I will give your car a scan and if I can sort out the light, no promises, then just sort me a little drink.
I am an owner of a full genuine Ross tech cable.

PM if interested mate and I'll give my number so we can arrange it.

Is that not what warranties are for. If you bought it from the garage then it should be covered by them as you've only had it 2 weeks and being immobiliser related I thought it would of defo been covered. Tell then to poke it and leave your car outside until something is done about it............and I mean right outside.

lol, you rebel Mark. :) x

That's for the responses! I made the mistake of buying privately. Even if I pay the £700 the car would of cost me less than if I brought it at a dealer.
Danny appreciate the offer, I'm actually off on my jollys this weekend, maybe drop you a message once I'm back, I do a lot of work up your way.
