hi guys .

recently purchased my 1st a3 tdi having come from a tuned up mk4 golf tdi and am looking into more power :) i had my golf remapped and installed an uprated sachs clutch kit costing around a grand ! found it to be a very hard peddle feel compared to stock and became a bit uncomfortable for the missus (who uses it most) .so have been looking into the best uprated clutch to go in my tdi 140

i have read good reviews about the southbend clutchs which sound pretty damn good tbh ,and like the sound of there silent single mass flywheel . im tempted to stay away from sachs but was after any opinions of people who have maybe installed a southbend kit .also is there anywhere other than darkside developments that sell them ? thought i could maybe get a cheaper kit from the usa as they are all the rage over there . bit confused when i look on us websites though ,they never seem to have a tdi option when choosing a clutch only petrol but would i be ok as long as its for the 02q gearbox and has the torque capacity ?

i have this waiting to go on but will get the clutch beforehand and get it all fitted at once ,and then get it mapped :)

any advice or opinions welcome

thanks

this is what im leaning towards there is also loba that do a kit with there flywheel and uses sachs kit i think

be interested to see what you find as i will have to act soon me thinks

i just like the sound of a silent single mass , dont really want a dmf .was hoping there were some people out there who might already have one fitted. ive been trawling the web looking for different vendors but like i said its confusing finding the right kit on the us forums :S

thanks mate ill see what I can find out . I see youve had some big power from the cars in your sig ,what clutch did you run?

what turbos that your putting on ?

i only ever use the SB clutch
get it direct from usa its a lot less £££££ you will get around £45 customs fee and 7 14 days to deliver

For a clutch import tax,VAT,customs etc will add about 25% to the price.

andy at SB will put value low so not that much
i got one delivered monday this week well picked it up from there hub @ a cost of £46.75
1 just b4 xmas was 3 quid less

Well he is an idiot then, not heard of a large company doing that for some time . If he gets caught he will loose everything. I import stuff from the states often and play the system so not having a go at you or Andy as such but he is a silly bloke.

gnj do you have that for tdi links in german for me

tdi man whats the helix like when you launch it im worried on wrecking another dmf so was thinking smf was the way
nice to meet the other night

They don't list it for the TDI but on my Invoice it says the kit is for VAG 2.0TFSI & 2.0 TDI. I need to check with them which models it definitely fits.
