A3 1.8T Quattro conversion to KO4 HELP

Hey Guys,
Ive been away and the A3 has been locked away, Was going to bring it out and was just offered a TT KO4 turbo conversion....
BUT
I'm stuck Because my engine code is ARY and the Turbo I've offered is off a TT!!!!!!


Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction????? Can this conversion been done????

Has it been done????

Guy would really appreciate any help.

Not sure I understand why you are stuck... you can't just use the turbo, you need the exhaust manifold, oil and water lines, downpipe, injectors and MAF housing as a minimum to start a K04 conversion... what bits do you actually have?

Hey

Sorry wasn't clear, I have complete Ko4 turbo with all the pipes and exhaust manifold ,alloy charge pipe with red pipe ,injectors with fuel rail,fuel pump with sender unit and was going to get a front mount too.

The Bit I'm worried about which is, that the turbo is off a BAM engine and mine is code is ARY.

Makes no difference hardware wise... you will need to plug up the EGT port on the K04 as your ECU doesn't use it, you will also need a TIP (assuming you haven't got the BAM one) and an S3 MAF housing... you will need to reuse your sensor though... If you have the S3 charge pipe does that mean you also have the S3 inlet manifold? gonna be quite tricky if not impossible to get all that lot down the drivers side... custom pipe work like other A3 front mounts should be ok and a MAP sensor tube of some description... would advise going for a S3 type FMIC too as the typical A3 ones are a tad small...

Of course you will then need it custom mapped which of course I assume your are getting done...

Thank you mate very helpful, But just confused about the EGT!! if my ECU doesn't use it????? I do have the S3 inlet meanifold but was not going to use it and was planing on using the S3 intercoolers.

do you think this is possible or am i going to hit a brick wall.

The ko4 turbo has a hole for the egt, you will need to plug it up. I wouldn't bother using the side mounts , just get a fmic.

anything is possible it all comes down to cost, if i was you i would scrap the k04 and go for k03s hybrid which is basically a k04 with no hassle, trying to get the turbo to fit etc.

if looking for more than 260bhp go for a garret turbo im sure tuffty can tell you every thing and any thing about them
