I did some carbon fibre vinyl on my car today (As well as the stop gap facelift imitation front end), so thought I'd share the love and enjoyment with you all :)

Looks smart mate, how difficult did u find it??
well impressed with the doors.

All in all fairly easy, takes a fair amount of time to make sure the bubbles are pushed out etc, but all you need is an hair dryer, soft cloth to rub the bubbles/shapes etc, and a credit card type thing to help push into the gaps etc.

If you want to do it, I'd practice on a small piece first, something easy and straight forward to do.

The grill might work a bit better if you either cut the bottom chrome section off the original top grill of wrapped that as well so the chrome was just around the edge of the whole job ??

Where do you get this carbon wrap stuff ?

Not my thing TBH fella, but you've done a really neat job there!

That was my plan originally, but I ran out of the stuff before I could do it, I'll be buying some more to finish the job off though

It was this stuff that I bought

600mmx300mm sizeVehicle Carbon Fibre Vinyl Sheet Black on eBay (end time 10-Jan-11 19:48:24 GMT)

Any more plans for the car?

Quite a few, but funds will play a big part as me and the woman are looking for our own place together, but wheels would be my first choice.

agree with N8, liking the interior but not the grill

interior looks good but never been a fan of this mod. But if your happy thats all that matters and as you said "stop gap" mod.

Benskies right :) If you are happy then sod everyone else :) I like thee interior, a good move for those with scratched piano finish.

Surely 600mm sheet is not big enough to do your door trims? did you join in on them? I like the interior, looks good

No, I emailed the guy, he will do custom sizes to suit what you need, I paid £15 delivered for 1 74cmx30cm and a 80cmx40cm.

i did my interior trims a while back with the carbon vinyl good job u've done there it looks like buddy keep us updated with future mods
regards
fran

Really like the interior but not a fan of the grill, as long as your happy mate keep up the good work

Bit of an update, I finished the wrapping of the upper grills lower lip, looks much better than the old grill IMO, at least until I get the funds for a proper conversion.

Does look alot better now. Jus bought some wood interior trim and carbon wrap to have a crack myself at the interior. Didnt fancy trying it on the piano black plus will always have a spare. May PM you for a couple of tips when I get it all

Tidy job there fella, tinting the bottom bar of the top grill has really made it look like a later grill

PM away mate, always happy to help out.
You could have used your piano black ones (mine are piano black), as the carbon wrap comes off easily enough with an hair dryer, and there is no damage to the trim at all.

Cheers buddy!
