Hi, just fitted an s-line interior in my A3 TDI. (Think it is an SE model if that makes any difference) It had heated seats in previously but :puke: cloth ones. I fitted them last night and had a flat battery this morning. I put the flat battery down to it being on its way out as it has been. So, drove to work today and my bum was HOT all the way there with the switch on 0.
Went to check them an hour later and they were still warm/hot!? So i had to disconnect them.

I thought it would be as easy as plug and play!?

Anyone else had this trouble or thoughts of a way to fix it.

That was quick!!! From a 58 plate and into a 53 plate.

Do you have climate control or manual heater system?

58 plate had different climate units aswell, but wiring between the 2 has a difference in fuse points & other wiring differences are purely sensors not connected to heated system, not sure the fuse point is the issue although 1 is ignition controlled & other is always on iirc, but thats switched I think.

Mine is a manual heater system.

What do you suggest i do?

Also there is two plugs, one large black one and the other is a small yellow one. Could you confirm to me which one would be for the heated seats?

Small yellow one is airbags, bigger one would be electrics for heater, lumbar if fitted & possibly seat belt recognition.

Well you need the wiring compared to see whats changed & adjust accordingly, if you cant do then get someone to do for you, I may have a job near you at some point, so if you cant do I'd be willing to chargable of course.

Ill try an have a gander this weekend! I will let you know if i have any luck. If not ill let you know. Let me know when your in the area and we might be able to sort something. Thanks again!!

UPDATE: Just for future ref for other people.

I stripped the seats and changed the wiring loom on the seats last night and they still dont work. So i dont know if the heater element is different. Might have to make futher investigation on the weekend with an electrical guru!

i have leather heated seats but there the total opposite in that they never come on lol

fuse has been changed to a known good one, not sure what else could be the problem as the big black plug looks fine on inspection but could be faulty. Just hoping it isnt the elements, but surely all elements across both seats couldnt be damaged could they?

Are they orignialy in the car or did you upgrade them like i have. I had standard heated cloth (2003) I put in S-line leather heated seats in (2008) Think i might have the problem as the 2008 model had climate control i dont!

originally in the car.

I bought it about a month ago, and the bloke who sold me it just said they stopped working

Do you need someone to wire these up for you or fault find?

Maybe need to post in russian :p wasnt my post clear enough, Blue & you have issues with heated seats, I was asking if you needed fault finding or wiring in, as isnt clear if they've been connected up properly or not.
