Hi guys,
Im desperatly looking for some advice on a set of alloys im really interested in.
a friend of mine bought a set of alloys off someoen who had them on an a4 and i want to take them for my b6 sport.
there 20" amg alloys and need new tyres.
I have 255/35/20 pirelli p zero's that i would put on them.
the wheels say on the back that there 8.5 on two and 9.5 on the other two. i know thats inches width or something but dont know for sure.
can anyone tell me will these wheels fit. I dont mind rubbing but obviously not a ridiculous amount.
also what will this leave for lowering? i Know ill probably have to roll the arches if i want to lower much. How much would this set me back?

Sorry for the long first post but i need the info urgently.

If you are going to run 20's you will need to deck the car on the floor as 20's look massive on B6's.. The width of the wheel's is fine hat are the offset of the wheel's, you may have rubbing issues with the tyre's being 255...

Man, you need to fully deck the car to pull off 20's...

Hope the roads are good round your area!

ya i intend to put coilovers in next.. i like my cars sittin on the ground so thats the plan. can anyone figure out for me whether the 255's would be too wide ??

anyone have any photos of 20's on an a4 and know how much it will cost me to get the arches rolled and coilovers installed??

The problem with the tyre's is the width (255) and the profile is to big (35).. You will need to bring the profile down to a 30 and the width down to 235. I have 19's with 235x35, Your 20's will have to run a 30 profile.. The offset is key also ..

so the 255's are out of the question then?? i dont mine a bit of rubbing? i know that the rs4's come with 255's on them but there only 19's.

The Problem is that i already have the 255 pirelli's and another set of tyres costs at least £450. would i be able to fit them if i got the arches rolled? it would probably be the cheaper option?? anyone have an idea on price or anywhere that does it in the sunderland newcastle area?oh and i expect to be putting coilovers in too so couldnt the person installing them change the camber to help??

irisha4. What's the offset of the 20" wheel's you are planing to fit. Have you tried fitting the wheel's yet to see if there are any problem's..

i dont know the offset. would it be on the wheel? the person that had the wheels before had them on an a4 so i presume the offset is right. I cant actually test them on my car because the wheels and tyres are all back in ireland and i would need to get them couriered over. i just want to know what will be involved first. I have tried the 20" alloys on my golf mk 5 before and they came out about a cm or 2. Would it be the same case for an a4?

Golf MK5 offset is 40-45. Audi offset is 35-45. On the back of the wheel's there should be some number's stamped like ET?? 5X112 . 9.5JX20J
the ET is the offset.

i rang him yesterday and he told me that the stamps on the back only have 8.5x20 and 9.5x20 on them? does this mean that the offset is zero or is he just missing it? does 35-45 mean that there's more room or less room? As in will it stick out even further or less? Sorry for all the questions but im back to the standard 17's and im desperate to get some alloys back on as soon as possible.

Phone him again and ask him to check for more stamp's/number's. All wheels should have ET?? stamped on them. What is the make of the wheel's

cool ill phone him tonight. i dont know what make they are there mercedes amg ones i presume there only replicas. here's a photo.

There the same wheel as these but in 20's

The offset could be 35 finger's crossed.

the wheels that i have back home that i was thinkin of taking the tyres off have an offset of 38 i think. coupled with the 255/35/20 tyres would they be too large? pity i dont think they would suit the audi at all.. here's a photo

i know i put them on a chrysler when i was 17...they were cool then!:D just off the phone to the guy with the wheels there. he said that he tried them on a 00 passat and they fit grand. He cant see any other numbers stamped on them (probably cos theyre most likely cheap after market reps) he's gonna put them on the passat again and take a photo for me.anythin i should ask him to do while he's doing it?

The only is to make sure they don't catch or rub on anything..

Surely you're gonna struggle with 9.5J wheels to make them fit under the arches?!

FWIW 19's are the limit on an A4 IMO.

if it can be done ill make it happen..:) i like going all out on a car..ill deffo have to put coilovers in it tho and maybe roll the arches if i cannot get it as low as i want without doing them..if anyone knows who'll install coilovers or roll the arches for cheap in the north east please let me know. :)

When you fit the wheels and coilover i don't think you will be able to drop it to the floor due to the height of the wheel's (20").

what are you doin up at half 5?!lol i know but if ill get it down low enough to look nice on the 20's :)

Start Work at 05.30 and have just finished 17.00 hrs.. The wheel should look good if you can get the car low enough.

20's will look nice but defo need decking in an instant else you'll be driving round in a chariot till you do.
9.5j with a 255/35 tyre you'd prob get away with looks wise but on the 8.5j they'll look like donuts.
You need to get some 235/30's on the 8.5j and 245/30's on the 9.5j to rule out the rubbing issues BUT thats all depending on the ET.
Your going to suffer a pretty rough ride anyway by putting laggy band tyres on the rims so wont harm your jaw anymore.:scared2:
Sell them tyres you have and start a fresh with the 30 profile...

ya ill look into that..there's a set of tyres on ebay at the moment that would be perfect..pity i dont have the others in the uk right now to sell..:( What do you mean by laggy band tyres??

I think he means 'laccy band' - as in elastic band, meaning very low profile tyres.

you better not get them wheels Donncha!!!! Dya want me to send ya a pic of mine so you can see what your forgetin about.lol

now now raftery i just wanto SEE will they fit...:) i might have to sell the car soon enough anyways so dont worry it wont be back in ireland parked beside urs lookin like a clone..:D (if anyone hasnt noticed his car is how i want mine to look when im finished and we're both from the same town in ireland) :D

Braf89 stick a pic up and show the boy's..
