Really? Why's that?
....not think the S3 more agile, poised and practical? Up to date?S5 a better car.
Live and learn, should have had a longer test drive.

What is that ugly piece of plastic around the driver's window? Not a wind deflector surely?
Steady.
We've already had this discussion...........

Let's not bring the hate on already, it's only just settled down again !
^ Not at all, but the "ugly piece of plastic" was perhaps a little contentious.
You're kidding? I had an S5 loaner last year for a week. Like driving a big boat with wheels. Wasn't impressed at all with it, interior aside.
We traded our 320D touring for the S3. Have a second car, which was a Cayman S and is now a Boxster GTS. Plan to swap the S3 to an RS3 next year at some point.
No, with dynamic steering and rear diff the S5 is a better car to drive than the S3. I can't compare to a S5 without these.
I'm basing that on ownership of both cars.
As I said, I didn't particularly rate the S5 and how it handled, but the fact that I think it's better than the S3, tells you my thoughts on the S3.
Here's hoping the RS6 ticks more boxes for me!
No.
Practical maybe, which was one of the reasons for the change, but the S5 with dynamic steering and the diff specced was a far better prospect to drive. I didn't even think the S5 was necessarily brilliant to drive either........
Cabin of the S5 much nicer place than the S3.
All round a better car, which it should be.
