I don't get some of the pi$$ taking in here!
I must be getting old, but don't know what's so funny!
So he's in a position to do stuff with his car, even taking weight out, which for the record is a sensible way to improve performance.

To put that in to context - Jonny's GTi Ed30 with 360bhp was running against Big Andy's 440bhp S3 at Santa Pod the other week.
Both doing late 12's for the 1/4 with the S3 crossing the line at 112mph and the GTi Ed30 crossing the line at 119mph...... Jonny has stripped a load of weight our of his car, including the rear seats and it has made a massive difference.
So what's so funny about Alex taking weight out fo his car? I'm quite interested to see where it gets too.

Agro, only in your eyes fella, nothing green in mine, just friendly banter, do you see anything else??

Just seems very strange someone buys a car then removes a hell of alot of kit that cost alot of money for no real reason that would make alot of difference but he's advertised it for sale in several places, his car but you have to admit its very very strange cause if you were selling why would you remove parts & buy new ones, strange man

I'm sure I saw Madalex in another forum recently, trying to think of which one it was

Isn't it up to him though??

That jonny bloke did the same.... Did that S3 up and spent lots and then sold it and made what i would imagine to be a rather big loss.

Hey if you read my quotes it does say its his car & up to him, but come on why would you at time of selling car then do all that

Johnny wasnt selling until he finished the car, big difference & wonder if he's finished his G5 now, Johnny obviously gets bored after projects as do I so needs something else to work on, but I wouldnt personally advertise a car for sale some 3 months ago & then now remove parts & replace with fairly expensive ones now, do you see our point?

Its more curiosity than anything else, are we allowed to ask why he's doing this or is this subject to scrutiny aswell?

I dont think Johnny lost as much as the depreciation another guy has had in 14 months, 1k a month, coudnt believe it tbh, didnt Johnny sell for 26k???

A bit like yourself then N8?

    Audi A3 2.0 TDI Sportback | Akoya Silver | S-Line | DSG | LOTS of Options
    Mods - FBMFSW | S3 Pedals | Media Adapter & TV in Motion | Tints | Exhaust tips | S3 Front End | KW V2s | H&R ARBs | De-Badged Rear | 09 SB Rear Lights | S3 Vents | TT Headlight Switch
    To be done - Bluetooth | Dead Pedal | 190bhp - 300ft-lb+ | 20"s on | DETAIL!!

Don't get me wrong, it's just its a bit of a daft thing to say when you clearly want to make your car individual and special and are therefore willing to spend money on your car... just like I have on mine.
What's so wasteful in Alex stripping the interior and seeing what performance gains it delivers on his car. I'm interested, as ripping the back seats out is easy (and easy enough to put back in!) and maybe worth doing for track days in my case.

Just not sure where all the taunting has come from and, TBH, don't think its fair.

I think Alex has a car dealership and he's not exactly priced it to sell quickly has he.... he did exactly the same with his last S3 and got what he paid for it I think.
So having it up for sale at that price will only catch the eye of someone who really wants that car... if someone is prepared to pay for it who's laughing then????

Everything he's done can be easily reversed so I don't see the problem!

I'm referring to spending 32k on a car, 10k on tuning then sell it 6 months later for 25k Jamie. I'm gonna keep my car for 3/4 years. So no Jamie, nothing like me pal! Sorry thats just my opinion, I'm not referring to Alex, he can do what he likes his car, let him carry on, he isn't hurting anyone!

does seem to be the same people saying the same things to madalex as per his post about removing the rear seats.

Maybe to your average joe it might seem silly but he can afford it why not?

To me it just looks like a bit of jelousey from an older guy who doesnt have the car he wants.

Think nigel in his 30's lol. So wouldnt consider that old.
Come on every one, if it hurting alex feelings.. Alex would just say and then that be it....

No harm, alex is enjoy doing what he doing to his car and it is his car so he can do what he wants. I can see where some people are coming from getting certain stuff for the car like bucket seats and then stripping in the car and selling them. But alex might not of thought about stripping the car when he placed his order. And now he has it, has a few ideas think his car running over 360bhp+ and gonna be lighter.

And nigel just nigel lol likes having a good laugh like most of us do? Just winding each other up. Its nothing personnal so enough with the little personnal digs? If alex was that bothered then he could say and the thread would be gone

Tbh ashely . It does get to me . I had a build thread of my car on this site which i ended up deleating due to constant piss take from staz and NHN ..

Ive never stripped any of my cars before , so wasnt planning on doing it when i spec'd the car , But i would have still wanted bucketseats . And im not going to lose money on the recaros other wise i wouldnt bother. I may have them sold for 1900 to a guy in the states . Were just costing up shipping .

Nigel is certainly taking the piss aswell as staz .

I only offerd to sell my buckets seats as some of you seemed intrested in getting a set .

I'm not sure who you're using as your example, but what you're saying is no different!
Just cause someone can afford to move their car sooner after spending money on modding it makes no difference really.
You've still spent at least 2k-3k on your car - whether you sell it now or in 3 years, it's still additional money thrown away on your car.

Cars are a big waste of money, but can't really spend it when you die, so what the hell! I know what your saying Jamie, but you don't get my point. We'll leave it as that.

Now I see Sohrob's & Jamie's psychology, very sensible approach indeed fella, to be commended for discount, lol

Looks like a shot my chance of deal on seats then, damn

This has turned out to be an interesting thread, but endgame is does Ashley get his seats, lol

I'm just having a giraffe with everyone, so lighten up FFS, if anything as already stated more curiosity than anything else as if was me I'd spec the ****tiest seats possible then buy the new set, but what I dont get is why advertise for sale as soon as buying it, maybe he's speculating to accumulate but I clearly remember him stating financial issues is reason for sale, am I saying anything Alex which isnt true, I did read it right didnt I on a sale page was it pistonheads??

Anyway what was that forum I saw you on recently, god what was that name, it escapes me as I swear it was you on about your S3 again.

There you go that was easy wasnt it, everyone else getting all robin red breasted up over sod all, I mean really how old are we & we cant take some banter, but is it worth changing seats if selling anyway?

You do realise you now have to sell one seat to Jamie & one to Sohrob or you're gonna be accused of Bucket Seat teasing & then they'll start taking the piss, its the only way to appease both of them, lol

Sticking my neck out here - I don't get how you can single someone out, rip their pride and joy to pieces, claim everything that persons done is a joke, then simply brush it off as a joke.
Seems you're happy to provoke, wind someone up, watch them pop and then claim they are over reacting as it was all a huge joke at that persons expense.

Not fair TBH - this place is meant to be about sharing information, finding out what other people are doing with their cars, gaining knowledge, communicating with others that are passionate about their cars.
Not ripping someone to pieces for fun.

    Just my opinion
