Would this cause boost pressure to decrease and bad MPG?

So i'm doing more research about my bad MPG problem and how the car's power has decreased slightly too. I've kept an eye on the breather pipe which comes off the side of the rocker cover for the past few months now. It's really soft and squishy if you press on it and you can blatantly see it's collapsed as it doesn't have the round curved shape anymore. It looks like the pipe has just died lol.

This is the silicone version of what i'm talking about.......

Would this collapsed pipe cause the problem i'm having??

    Thanks

I'm sure someone mentioned the breather system in your other thread mate. It's notorious for causing bost leaks and performance issues so I'd get it replaced if I was you. If you can, it'll be worth you replacing all of it not just that section of hose. The easiest way is to fit a catch can and bin the majority of the breather system.

Well i thought i would update this.

Catch tank fitted yesterday and this STILL hasn't solved any of my problems. MPG still decreasing drastically and my boost gauge still reads -12/13 psi and not -20 psi how it should be like everyone else's.

My biggest investigation is the MPG readings for now but i really don't know what it could be. My mechanic suggested it could be my 200 cell sport cat. I had a Longlife cat back system done a couple months after purchasing the car. Ever since then the car has failed on MOT emissions every year!!

MAF and downpipe lambda was changed in Summer last year.

Log fuel trims and lambda to get an idea of how rich or lean it may be, likely rich, which would kill your cat.

Cheers guys, will keep that in mind! Gonna drive in a bit so will check air/fuel on liquid gauge. Also gonna get vag-com plugged in and see if that brings anything up as the liquid gauge isn't as detailed as vag-com.

    Update:

Vag-com gave NO fault codes, car is fault code free but unfortunately not fault free! My mechanic suggested EGT sensor but he said that should bring up a code and EML. I'm absolutely stuck now!! Just 1 more thing to try tonight... MAF sensor readings on the liquid gauge! Fingers crossed it's the MAF because i'll at least know what it is then.

    Update:

I done MAF readings on liquid gauge last night. In September a few months back i was doing 216 g/s = 270bhp, last night i got 210 g/s = 262bhp.

To me losing 8bhp is quite alot! Should i worry about this? Could this affect my mpg problem?

I really need this sorted asap, car will be for sale within next couple months unfortunately :( I want the car running spot on before i sell it so the next owner can enjoy the car and stage 2 it!

Ajay log engine block 031 and do a 3rd or 4th gear run from 2000 revs to redline and post up the results.
