Yeah well it will spool up super quick without a big FMIC for all the charge air to go through first. I bet they're running 100% meth on it too!

Not a proper update but something to get me excited anyway! It's time the Infinity INF 05 tyres went in the bin. All this rain has highlighted just how sh1te they are. I can honestly say I've never driven a car that has had this little grip in the wet ever! It's a joke so I found 4 continental contact sport 3 part worns on the bay for a super price.

I had these tyres on my old S4 rims and they're pretty bloody good in the wet. I'll go get these fitted in the morning.

Jesus, it's taken me a couple of weeks to read this thread on and off. It started out when I was looking for info on FMICs for S3s and also WM. I was engrossed and got square eyes a few times while at work on nights. :D

The last 2 or 3 pages were just the worst, all that hard work seemingly went to the wall. I can imagine the sick feeling as it first played up.

I changed a rear main seal and clutch on my MK2 GTI a couple of weeks before driving to the Alps. Back in 1995 or so. It was dripping and I never did anything about it. I got from Newquay to Yeovilton and it spun up big time coming off the roundabout at Sparkford. I nearly emptied my stomach on the spot. The distance we still had to go, all the money spent on the ski trip was fading away. I babied it to Dover and the RAC took care of it and got me a hire car. Money well spent. :) Although the Rover 214 was a shocker and no CD player was not good.

Anyway, I was so pleased to see that post with the EGT probe, it made my day!! :arco:

Yep. Need to bleed brakes, change wheels, fit cooler, wash car, remove rear seats, fill up WMI tank and extra meth tank. Think that's it

Are you taking a passenger to the track day Westy? If not I'd have that spare big fat recaro straight out! Only one fixing and it's out

Unfortunately I do have a passenger. I'm still toying with the idea of stripping the interior and selling it to fund two light bucket seats and harnesses bu that won't happen while the car is still being used as a daily.

Ooooooh, you went for th simple hose and clip option then.

Make DEADLY sure you do those clips up tight! 4 bar of oil pressure escaping at 100 degrees can cause a lot of mess!!

Im sure he'll get more satisfaction from making a passenger smile aka me from the cars performance than gaining a very slight advantage with the seat out ;)

haha yes but removing the passenger seat doesn't just save on the weight of the seat... It saves on the weight of a passenger too!

theyll be fine mate. Just make sure the clips are tOight like a toiger!

i use the mocal "press fit" hoses and fittings the same as Bill used on Hollies TT. It's a no clips 250psi rated system. Blue hose and fir tree style fittings.

Yeah that sound like what I've pictured above? All mocal fittings, 2 metres of blue hose (not pictured) and all those fittings have 3 barbed bits to grip the hose.

I'm off to find the cooler in your thread.

This is from your thread Prawn:

    Looks identacle to mine.

You've used Jubilees as a belt and braces method (think I'll steal that idea):

The only bit that's slighty different on yours is that the barbed nozzles and screw fittings are one piece where on mine the screw fitting goes over the nozzle. I'm guessing the red bits on yours act as a seal of some sort?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I'd do a bit more research to be sure before fitting mate, but I think you've got the wrong hose :(

The blue hose is specially for the no clips system and grips on tighter the harder you pull it off, the hose barbs on the no clips system are MUCH sharper and bigger than the normal clip style ones you've got.

These are the style you've got:

for use with the black oil hose - Moquip 100R6 rubber or braided rubber oil hose

These are the barb style for the blue push fit hose (Aeroquip AQP socketless hose)

Moquip 90° Steel Socketless Fittings | Rallynuts

Not what you want to hear I know, there's every chance you could use the blue hose on the standard fittings, but it's designed as a system to be used together with the right barbs. I'd give Think auto-motive a call first to check

Messaged MLR to get an answer as his shop doesn't stock those fittings or the black hose by itself. Hopefully I can get this resolved in time.

You'd be able to get some nice anodised push fit fittings from eBay US. Plenty on there. Used a load for my breather setup. Proper push fit hose ain't that cheap. A right bugger to get off too, as you'd expect.

MLR just got back to me and said the fittigs will be fine with the blue hose if I use a jubilee clip per fixing

I think its a bit risky fitting this before track day on saturday. It leaves no time for testing and shizzle. Last thing ur gonna want is to have an oil leak on the way there or something. The day will be over before it starts.

Think if you make it your first job, double clip each end of the pipe where possible as an extreme and then take it for a hammering. Come back and double check fittings. Should be fine. I fitted my tip and did 30miles less than an hour later. Expected to blow off a hose or something but was all good.

Busy day getting the car track ready for tomorrow and it included a last minute dash to the tyre place when I found one of my yokos totally flat. Turned out to be a poor seal. Tyre off rim cleaned up and now all ok.

Just about held up. It did rain a touch and got quite slippery but soon dried out and was back to being awesome. Cars did well and didn't have a problem all day. Well depends if you class Stacey's oil drinking a problem lol.

What a day. Absolutely wicked time, car was flawless. Had a few people come up to me commenting on the flames it was throwing ;)

Once I've sorted out my lap timer vids I'll get them uploaded. For the moment I only have a few pics. Most taken by Jason

Hopefully we'll get on another track day together and I can have a ride in your car and vise versa ;)

The car was flawless! Really enjoyed being a passenger. Seriously need to get some exhaust in my life. Pops and bangs are just awesome. Saying that I could say this was awesome, that was awesome and it only makes my wallet cringe even more! Need Stacey's brakes though! They're epic when they're not vibrating lol Need a small lottery win to buy the bits that have gone on the list after today's outings.

Ok here's 2 vids of the 2 fastest laps I recorded on Saturday. I did do a 3:09 but I'd run out of space for the Harry's Lap Timer to record any more video but it did capture the GPS results.

    3:12 Lap
