Tyre/wheel size question

I'm currently running 235 40 18 tyres on 18" Ronals on my 1.9 Quattro Avant, but my spare wheel has a 225 45 17 tyre on, the other Ronal i have won't fit in the wheel well. if i need to use the spare will it have any detrimental effect if used for a short while ?

As a spare, it'll be fine.

Agreed with Nollywood.

Your spare has VERY similar specs to other 4 wheels except for the profile loss going from 45 to 40 but on a short term basis this is fine.
