Removing Number plate pads?

Hi,

I did not know if to post this in the detailing or not?

I have some new plates made up for my car, the ones on there now are stuck on with them adhesive foam pads. Any one got any ideas how to remove the old pads easily ready for new ones before i attempt it?

I was thinking stanely blade and some white spirit? any good?

id like to know the answer to this as well, as i had some new plates and it took me ages to remove some of the pad.i ended up sticking the new pad on top of the old 1.i used Stanley blade and nail polish remover, not much happened

Applying heat gently with a heat gun works for me...

I let you know the outcome tomorrow mate, as im going to give it a go, armed with hairdryer, stanley blade scraper thing, and somewhite spirit.

white spirit will remove any leftovers once you ve removed the majority of the pad
