problem with alarm

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before. After my battery had been taken out and re-connected, locking my car with the key fob only locks the doors but does not arm the alarm (ie. no indicator flash, and LEDs do not flash on the doors). Anyone with any ideas?
Perhaps something I need to reset?

Try opening the boot and shuting it again before arming the alarm, usuallt the sure. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

Ahh.... interesting. I noticed that the alarm wasn't working after shutting the boot.
I shall try it and let you know Jojo. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sequence of events:

Walks over to car.
Opens and closes boot.
Locks car with key fob. Still no alarm arming.
Walks over to driver's side door....and guess what.
It was not closed properly.... (what a muppet!).
