P1296 on my Audi A3 1.8t saying its coolant temp sensor or thermostat sensor anyone had similar problem?? I also had mass air flow problem but seems to be ok now after cleaning it.. My tempatire do t go beyond 90 even when heating is on for ages!!... Also have a very loud fan when econ is on sounds like a vibratir in the glove box, is this a separate fault?? Any help or guidance be much appreciated

coolant temp sensors do go bad on these, if im not mistaken its what tells the dash the temp, mine went bad sometimes it would sit at 90 and some times it wouldnt give a reading at all, im not sure of the code as not at work so unable to check but getting a coolant temp sensor wouldnt be a bad shout, for a spare if nothing else, im sure someone will be along shortly to confirm the code for you
