Typical all month no action
I'm saving my money for the build.
We all know what would have happened, and none of us really care. So I thought I would silently excuse myself from the whole affair and keep £250 towards my engine build.
Don't hate me.
I take it jojo has edited your sig! Legend..........
i didn't come down in my T D IIIIIIIII. Because it was absolutely lashing it down in Nottingham so I got my depression head on.
though jojo's abuse has cheered me up.
£250 to go to ADI?
I can't take credit for that unfortunately.
My day out cost me around £200 for track time and fuel, £250 if you include the new carkey I got. really depends if you are a spectator or a track goer?
The £250 for 45 minutes at ADI could have purchased me an entire day at Brands inclusive of fuel.
The car needs new subframe bushes, a new set of tires and a few final bits before I would say it was track ready.
Do it properly or not at all
Castle Combe is so unforgiving so being track ready is needed I think Jardo
It's unforgiving if you are a twat on track, the idea is to drive within your limits! Obviously, if you know your way round like Nick, Bill, and myself, then you can push yourself to the cars limits.
WOW. That's a lot more than I thought it would.
Fair play then mate.
This is why I love Bedford autodrome so much. 40 mins from home and a full days open pitlane can be had for £140.
does the RS4 / S4 wheel you have bolt straight on and the airbag connect up ok?
Airbag loom needed adjusting. But physical fit was the same.
Getting a bit excited about this engine build now.
I've had the hump a lot since swapping the wheels over, it looks horrific now and the cars generally got me down. It's too low to drive fast, looks **** on these wheels and generally hasn't been interesting me at all. Pay day next week though, then I can buy some nice tires, raise it up and smash it for the winter!
So I've taken today off work to take it out for a thrash and fall back in love with it. I'm going to spend the morning researching the engine build and making myself a check list
What happened to the ED30 then? Changed your mind? Did you ever fit the new coilovers? Or even buy them for that matter?
I'm still very interested in an Edition 30, but I'm going to keep the A3 for the winter and save a bit longer to get the one I want. Rather than the one I can afford. I really really loved the Ed, it was a seriously nice bit of kit. But I'm not ready to give up on the Audi yet.
The deal I had agreed with DPM was a bit of a miscommunication, I believed I was getting the adjustable damper units (that's the part number I gave) but the price was for the basic units. So they never got ordered and I spent the money on brakes and engine mounts.
Taking on board what you said (which I agree with) I know my Jamex coilovers are probably firmer than most aftermarket non-adjustable coilovers so I'll keep running them for a short while. I can't really justify spending £6/700+ for a set of high quality coilovers and it would be a waste to spend that money on another set of mid spec coilovers.
Also, people start building over the winter and take their cars off the road. So Ed38 will be ripe with bargains on the run up to Christmas
It looks well slaggy dirty.
Why do you hate the wheels? I think your car looks more motorsporty and purposeful like that.
I agree with Westy. That looks nice and gives it a bit of attitude
+1. Way better.
Don't get me wrong, I love the S4 wheels and I really miss mine but the TTs make the car not look so tarty. More like "action" wheels then "show" wheels. I've got 2 sets of TT wheels (black and red) as they were cheap and they serve a purpose. They're not as nice as the S4 wheels but I can't see how you can say you hate them. Took me a while to get used to them on my car.
I dont get the obsession everyone seems to have over the S4`s.. but i agree the TTs look much better on your car.
Maybe I will look at some black wheels which are a bit nicer, I was thinking black BBS CH's, or I might plastidip the S4 wheels and run them without center caps.
I like the black wheels, just not these ones. It does look meaner on these wheels, and I like that they stick out more. But these wheels have years of horiffic brake dust in them and are basically grey. I have to smother them in tyre black every time I want to think my car looks good.
It just doesn't look like my car with these wheels on.
It's crazy how a set of wheels can make a car look so different. I'm not a fan of my black wheels either due to their rattle can finish. I want to sell both my sets of TT wheels to fund some Team Dynamics at some point anyway.
It looks like my car, because that's what it's a replica of, and because they're my wheels
I like it, looks mean, but it is too low to use.
we'll raise it up, tighten that horrible subframe clunk away, and fit these top mounts, and you'll LOVE it all over again.
that pic makes me feel better about having those wheels put it that way.
Pierre also has an awesome pic of his old car on them too.
I do think they're better suited to the A3 though, its enough offset on an A3. Unfortunately mine are hidden away somewhat, and dont want to run spacers
He can't decide between an ED30, an E30 BMW, an E36 M3, an E46 M3, a Mk5 GTi, an 8P S3, an...... you get the idea.
I really like the tt wheels like some say I think there well suited to the A3, I'm keeping an eye out for a set for mine, I like black wheels I personally think it makes it look a little more aggressive.
Looks good tho matey
It's an s3!
It's mine. Thats what it is!
Slayer for sale!
Nice...them poor 8p boys toodeloo...
It is nice. I like it.
No negativity please guys; I may well keep the Slayer as a dedicated weekend toy. This is just something new and gives me more options.
Whats the spec jardo?
i remember you saying you hated the newer a3's and the "prefacelift" a3 was the best they'd ever made!
looks nice anyway mate, tfsi i'm guessing
It's a ****ing diesel hahahahahahahahahaha.
did you poo the bed this morning?
It is a 56 plate S-Line 140 TDI, full Audi history until the service manager at Basingstoke Audi transferred to an independant specialist and took this guy with him.
One owner from new, just had new tyres, new discs, new pads, belts and pumps (including injection) done last year. It's on 108K, has recently been rebushed with genuine lower arms and rear linkage bushes.
It feels so nice to drive, a nice ying and yang to the 1.8t.
Sounds great,They respond well to a remap dont they...
