Driving the wife to an ante natal appointment 2 days ago my A4 suddenly started losing power and the s tonic gearbox wouldn't change gear properly.
Managed to get home just about and called Audi Breakdown who couldn't find any fault codes logged but suspected it was down to a
Fuel rail pressure sensor problem which apparently doesn't always give fault codes.
Anyway, they very efficiently fitted the new sensor at my home today and all seems well now.
Made we wonder why no fault code was generated given that I was limping along at crawling speed with my hazards on for a mile or so.
Driving the wife's BMW 430d the last 2 days made me appreciate how comfy and refined the A4 is but also how laggy the s tronic gearbox is. I know it has been covered before on this forum but Audi can learn a lot from the BMW auto box.
Have to say I was impressed with the Audi breakdown service although I hope to never see them again!
