Facelift Facelift first thoughts

Okay just got my new 150tdi stronic sportback sport after only 8 weeks .

Very impressed ,the roof lining is a medium grey as apposed to the cream on pre face lift , there are no rear door kick plates is this correct? my wife's pre face has got , the tyres are Dunlop sport maxx.
The tango red seems brighter than the tt I seen it on at time of ordering.

excellent - same colour and trim as the 1.4 TFSI stronic version I have ordered - any chance of one or two more piccies particularly the interior and centre rear console bit between the front seats as I have seen very few "sport" picccies! I take it the front mudflaps? are an option?

Aberdeen Audi usually throw in mud flaps and rubber mats for us , our company has about 10 audis , they didn't fit on the back so I can only presume the bumper is a different shape to the pre face and they don't stock yet.

Car looks OK in Tango xenons look good but still not sold on there design

Hi had the storage pack which I think gives you the compartment in the rear seat and the 12v socket in the rear console.

The main changes from pre face lift are :

The centre console , 12v sockets and electric window switches illuminate in white instead of orange

Mmi media cable gone now 2 USB inputs.

Roof lining a lot darker

Steering wheel different.

Seats are the same .

Mmi system vastly improved.

That's about it inside, hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback and pics. Some very minor unexpected tweaks too the interior then.

Think I preferred the red ring tho.

i have S3 8V pre facelift and it has the 12v socket in rear along with rear seat storage compartment(which holds a hi-vis vest)

one difference i notice from them pics is the indicator and wiper stalks are different

Has it still got seat base tilt lever on drivers side? Audi uk customer service told me it was deleted for 2017 mdl year, but looked at FL a3 sline sportback and there it was!

My thoughts coming from a 2013 S-Line Hatch to a 2016 S-line Cabrio:

Clutch is less tight, which I prefer.
Steering feels different, more precise.*
Sport suspension smoother on bumpy surfaces*
MMI UI is vastly improved - 2 buttons instead of 4 on either side of jog.
Now-standard LED Interior Light Pack is great.
Glovebox has chrome lock.
Little Audi badge on the dashboard - not a fan of it tbh.
S-Line standard seats have changed. Cloth is now rougher - feels harder wearing, and not any less comfortable.
Front 12v socket in the non-smokers pack has chrome trimming.
New flat-bottom wheel is not as 'chunky' as the old one.
New stalk design for lights/wipers/cruise. Cruise particularly noticeable.


*this could well be because it's the cabrio.

Thanks for the info.
Because of Audi uk customer service not having a clue after email + several telephone conversations as no brochure available etc,
I arranged a 24 month 1 x 23 8k pa lease deal on a Leon Cupra 5dr Black dsg + metallic £277 pm. Just before I went to post docs to place factory order, something told me to go to local Audi dealer to look at FL A3 sportback sline!
When I got there opened the door and immediately focused on lever for base tilt, went home and cancelled Cupra lease as prefer driving position of A3.
Now waiting to try a 2:0 ltr 190 petrol + Quattro sometime and then decide lease if deals improve or purchase via Carfile who have best offer at present + great service too.
