When driving my keyfob gets very warm not sure why does anyone else have an idea, my old man got a broucher about a bmw z4 and that said that its automatically recharged the battery in the key so was just wondering if audi did anything this fancy if not why not we cant be out done by a flaming z4 can we

no key recharging I am afraid, only two 1620 button batteries to power it.

never noticed my key getting warm to be honest, like look out for it next time

sounds dodgy. I would hae wondered if a bad contact to the battery inside was sparking, but I would have thought the voltage would be to low to heat it up too much.Could try having a look to see.

I think mine used to get quite warm on a long journey, and I think the salesman said something to me like "it charges itself while in the ignition".
Can't say I've noticed it for a long time though.
