This is lookng more and more likely for me. I've just, apperently, booked a holiday for my misses, our boy, her parents and sister for a week which I am not going on.

So as long as nothing comes up with work I am a definate for this. So looking at the above I should be back in southampton at some point late sunday night yes?

Ditto, I hear the straight 6 sounds quite tasty too!? :)

Still, 11 cars is going to be so cool! :) It was a real buzz driving in a convoy to France with just 3 cars!

Well there is a possibility that I may be able to tag along with the Mrs. Something that we have discussed doing for ages.

It is subject to cost and being able to move a family BBQ to the Monday.

That is if you could stand an oil burning A3 joining in, it is no slouch though.

So for a Diesel A3 what are we looking at, would £350 each all in be a reasonable guess.

My TomTom has the latest Western Europe Map loaded.

Any other Ladies going ? Not that Kate can't hold her own in the Company of all Males.

Same as Wes above, haven't been able to get a yes / no from my co-driver and disposable cash is pretty low (read none lol) at the minute, i'll keep an eye on the thread though and if I can make it I will come along.

Awesome! the more the merrier! Would you like to be added to the Maybe of Definite list?

Will do :) The deadline is just the last point at which we will change the route, you can decide to come a day before we leave so long as you can arrange a couple of hotels and the eurotunnel :)

Well, as soon as we can really, I'll look up the best hotels today and post what everyone needs to book later...

just because it's the deadline today doesn't mean you can't come, just so long as you manage to book everything up before we leave it's all good :)

I hope you can make it, keep us in the know!

When would that deadline be? We're pretty much a definate... She was just asking where we'll be staying and what the general plan is. 99% sure I'll be there with you guys!

Few links that might help with some of the stuff people need for this trip:

https://www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/home.do - Free EU Healthcare, don't go to Europe without one!

http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ - Best places to get EUROS from, I am personally waiting until a week or so before we go to buy them, just to wait and see if the rate gets any better.

http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/Financial_Services/The_Audi_Card.html - Mine arrived today, 0% transaction fee for using it abroad, will be useful for fuel purchases. (Already mentioned in this thread)

Another good card is the Abbey ZERO (http://www.abbey.co.uk) is essentialy the same as the Audi one...

http://www.kayak.co.uk is a good hotel search site, will compare the prices with Expedia as well, just tick the box!

Been looking for some Eurostar coupons / group booking discounts / cash back offers etc, but not much available. If anyone finds any good deals on this sort of stuff, please post it!

    Nice one :)

    Just looking at hotels...

For Interlaken Weisses Kreuz looks good, it has parking and is £92 for a twin/double: http://www.kayak.co.uk/h/hotel/deta...turl=undefined&ro=true&pg=2&cp=2-25-120&idx=4

I'm having trouble finding a decent hotel in either Stelvio or Bormio on the cheap. Any suggestions?

There is a really nice one with parking in Bormio called Baita Dei Pini, but that's £142 for a twin/double: http://www.kayak.co.uk/h/hotel/deta...kiturl=undefined&ro=true&pg=2&cp=1-9-10&idx=1

£142 isn't too bad, but what do you guys think?

    Eurotunnel:

8-10am shuttle on the 22nd (Short Stay Saver) is £68 and a 22:00-00:00 return on the 24th is also £68.

Just booked this myself, think it's full for the Friday night now though, as it's showing as unavailable on the online booking.

Is it worth looking for another hotel in Interlaken, and seeing if they have enough for say, 10 rooms, on the Friday ?

The current place can be cancelled until 72 hours before, so lots of time to sort it out!

My mate said she wanted to go on my car's insurance so she can drive a bit as well and I told her shes more than welcome if she can keep up with you S3 boys. She then asked if we'll have walkie talkies so she can tell you lot to slow down! :asskicking: lol
