Hey guys, I've been offered a deal on a new RS4. I've been offered a discount better than I expected(cancelled order) but the downside is the trade in value they've given for me car is pretty poor, £16800. They're 'confident' that what they've offered is above book price and I tend to disagree. According to the AA 'value my car' service which is apparently powered by glasses I get a £17800 valuation on a excellent condition base spec model with 10k miles. I even had the dealer go through this service and he said "ah, but it says it's powered by CAP auction prices, not glasses".... at best I hoped for £18k trade in given the low mileage, at worst £17000. Someone who works at glasses even gave me a valuation of £17700 What do you think? how can their valuation be some much lower? and what you would do in the position I'm in? I don't want the hassle of selling privately but might do if it'd be worth an extra £1k.
