DV improvement?

Just got my s3 remapped at AMD today... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
258bhp and 285ft/lb t
Very impeseed with result.
While i was there i spoke to a guy who said that if you place a washer (3mm in his case)under the DV piston spring it can reduce lag due to the piston closing sooner.
Will this work?
 
its personal choice, but yes it can work.

ive done it on mine and been fine

it closes sooner with more of a snap and opens later.

there is a guy in the states using 5mm spacer in his Forge, but so far i have(and other amd viper owners) used a 3 mm.

i started off with washers , and then got some ally spacer rings made up at work, 3, 4, 5 mm but not tried last two.

mine was ruunning with 3mm spacer at last ASN RR day a couple of weeks ago.

certainly had no adverse affects, 273bhp 295 ftlb.

last cold run back in feb made 275/291.
