Hi All

I have just purchaced my Audi S3 And been looking through the service history and there's an advisory saying they recommend a HALDAX OIL & FILTER CHANGE. This has been done in all previous services and i was just wondering why it hasn't been done this service it was also a MAJOR SERVICE .. What Exactly is a HALDEX OIL & FILTER CHANGE And is it important???

Thanks in advance

Jimmy

The haldex is a electrohydrallic clutch unit which controls the power delivery to the rear diff. I advise changing oil and filter every 20k

Cheers GAudiTech

I wonder why it wasn't done in the last service but was done in every other baring in mind it was the same dealer. i might just get it done for piece of mind.

In my work it is an additional cost on top of the service price so an upsell would be req by the service advisor. Maybe they forgot to ask you??

Believe its oil every 20k and filter every 40k.

thats what Audi recommend but most are done at the same time as the filter does not cost much

Simple to do yourself if you want to. Just need to buy the special filter removal tool for around £30, then it's about £30 for the oil & filter. Easily done on a set of ramps or axle stands. Oil every 20k, filter every 40k, but I do both at the same time. I was quoted about £100 to have it done from an independent specialist.

its about £100 to have it done at an audi stealer

Most charge 1.5hour labour + parts.......... therefore £180-£190
