Anyone know of any independent specialists in the Portsmouth/Gosport area to carry out a longlife service.

Cheers Steve,

I have emailed them for a quote for a Service and Cambelt change. Hoping to get both done for around the £650-£700 mark.

Why don't you take it to the dealer......Cambelt change should be £350 and longlife service £200 on there new capped service plans.

There are also other advantages to going to a dealer;

I believe the cambelt is guaranteed by Audi for two years,
You will get an Audi stamp in your service book,
And, if you give them a bit of notice, they should be able to lend you a courtesy car for only a nominal fee to cover the insurance (I've had a B8 model A4 2.0 T FSI S Line and an A6 Avant S Line Le Mans both under 6 months old and a great way to test drive a possible car of the future without the pressure of a salesman sitting in the car with you!).
Obviously it's all part of their marketing ploy but do you do feel more of an 'experience' going to the dealer for a service, with a chance for a look round the showroom etc. Sure, they are still taking your money but it's all a bit more slick than an independent and at fixed rates for servicing and a cambelt change the cost is not quite the rip-off than main dealers labour rates can be.

What size engine do you have? I think the £350 mentioned before is for engines up to 2 litre.

Give JKM a ring mate, they are highly recommended. They have a link on "seatcupra.net"(sorry for the advertising)
http://www.jkm.org.uk/

I contacted JKM and they must have though I was stupid, they sent me an email stating that Audi would quote me £1200 for the cambelt change including waterpump......so they could do it for £750.

Actually Audi Portsmouth can do it for £618, Fair to say I won't be using JKM, although I did notice they can fit cruise control for £150..mmmm

When my water pump failed i had my car taken to Audi, and they did the cambelt on the fixed plan and then added the waterpump as an extra so to keep the cost down, and they kept me informed through out. Unfortunatly i didnt get a courtesy car as it went in at the last minute on the back of an RAC van.

Car all booked in with Portsmouth Audi, Cambelt replacement plus waterpump, and oil change. All for £847.

Good move!

Have you been able to book a courtesy car as well?

Just got back from Audi Portsmouth.......Cambelt change plus service...£1047.00........ouchhhhhhhhh

I was quoted £618 for the cambelt including all rollers and tensioners and then had a phone call today to say a tensioner needed replacing and wasn't included in the original quote..another £160, i wasn't impressed

Anyway car feels a lot smoother.

I couldn't get a courtesy car as they needed 2 weeks notice....
