whats this connector ?

As title really, was looking at the engine today, to see if i could change the temp sensor,
and found this connector unplugged. just wondred what it was for ??

Plug it back in as the engine won't run correctly without it... the N249 allows the ECU to control the DV... Disconnected the ECU will not adapt properly and can overfuel.... Welly had a similar issue when he did his N249 bypass and removed the valve completely, the emissions were all over the place making it fail the MOT.

Assuming you are referring to the electrical connection it is for the N249 which is used by the ECU to control excessive boost. This provides some info, although is actually about removing it from the vac system.
 
interesting, i dont know how long its been off for, but doesnt seem to of effected anything,been driving fine.
plugged it back in now, so will see if its anybetter.
 
I would imagine the ECU will have logged a fault code so it would be a good idea to get it scanned with VAGCOM or similar..
