I've been looking at my A4 for a while and wondering why it looks so light inside.

Just come to realise I do not have the dark tint across the top of the windscreen.

Was this a option or has the car had a new screen in?

Can i re-create the effect aftermarket without putting a new screen in?

Cheers.

Funny enough I'm in the process of having my chipped screen replaced.....

Autoglass ordered the wrong screen for starters - as in one without the 'tinted' top. Apparently the non tinted versions were fitted to the cars that didn't have the sensor for wipers / lights.

Mine has the tinted top and I have to say it's worthless - hence why I always have a solid black vinyl sunstip on my car.

You could of course do the same thing simply using tinted film - so that it's still see through.

I have a 'how to guide' if you're interested.
