Engine Management Light Query

Hi all,

I have just been to see a A3 TDI, i've just noticed that when i switched the ignition on, the engine management light does not come on and go out again like all the others.

I've looked in the manual and it says that it only comes on when there is a fault but i thought it should do the test when the ignition comes on?

Are any of your TDI's like this?

The tdi's flash the Heater plug light if there is a problem with the engine IIRC

I still would have thought this light would come up on ignition though?

usually on tdi's its the glow plug light flashes when theres a fault or epc
