Seems to be lots of alarm problems on various (all?) Audis!! Anyone found out how to disable the alarm while locking the doors? Car is 04 A4 Avant 1.9TDI (The DIS indicates that the rear hatch is open even though its totally secure. While this is not of itself a problem the car alarm now triggers on a regular basis hence need to disable while I get it sorted)

I'd think your problem is the lock mechanism on the rear tailgate, which contains the switch to tell the car if its open or not. Clearly if its faulty and changes state while the alarm is on it will go off.
As for disabling the alarm itself, i know you can disable the ultrasonics with a little button, but i'm not sure you can disable the alarm itself. The alarm and central locking unit are basically the same device.
