Tappy Tappets

As above.

My tappets seem pretty noisy..

Its a 1.8T Sport, 2000 'W' with the 150 Engine and 107k.

Can they be adjusted?
If so where and roughly at what cost?

Surely this can lose a slight bit of power, aswell as being louder etc?

The tappets for these engines are hydraulic so cannot be adjusted. They can be noisey at startup for a few seconds which is fine. Should quieten down when oil is pumped through them.

I would first check the correct grade of oil is being used.

personally dont think its ur tappets sounds to me like the usual 1.8t tick! theres a chain that goes round ur cams the opposite side to the cambelt and 9 out of 10 its the tensioner for that, the chain is £60 + vat but the tensioner is best part of £300 + vat, main dealer told me since its a chain it shouldnt snap so just deal with it till i can afford to fix it!
