hi there, im looking at getting an a4 cab 2.5 tdi auto, jus wanted to know what are the main things to look out for.

i know cambelt/water pump at 70k but being an auto do there need to be other changes like the oil for the auto box??? if so when does it need to be changed??????

anything else guys???

thanks:thumbsup:

40k I think for the Multitronic oil. The Multitronic ECUs also seem to be less reliable than they should be.

hmmm do u reckon its best to go for a manual then ??? rather than an auto??

thanks

Difficult one. I kind of wish I had an auto box on our 1.9TDi as the short power band means lots of gear changes. I guess if you get a decent warranty you should be OK with the auto but a manual is almost always going to be more reliable. The problem with the multitronics is that the ECU can go anytime and it's several hundred for a new one.

Is the multitronic available in the 2.5tdi cab? I thought it was the 5 speed tiptronic.

2.5TDi cab is FWD so the auto is Multitronic. Tiptronics are only on the Quattros.
