Outside temp sensor

Not S3 related but VW Golf.
A mate i work with has a mk4 Golf GTI and today his outside temp display stopped giving a reading.
Anyone know where the sensor is located ? (possibly door mirror)

Its inside the front bumper, sorry I can't remember which side

Just out of interest does anyone know where the temp sensor is on the S3?

I think it may be in the same place but I'm not sure as I haven't taken a bumper off an S3 yet

if you take the front grille out, you'll see it on the bracket for the horn

also, if your's is making you dash reading strange, i.e -25c then your aircon will stop working once it goes past -5c

this ****** me off for ages until i worked it out..

oh and mine wasnt faulty, it just wouldnt locate, so had to zip tie it to connect it
