S3 owner for six months, have noticed the suspension "creaking" quite a lot lately, almost like floorboards. Haven't made any modifications to the wheels, suspension, or any of the chassis.

It's mainly over rough roads when it happens - lots of driving in the Yorkshire Dales - and you can really notice the noise when there are sweeping ups and downs; over speed bumps too. Just don't remember hearing it when I first got the car, and am worried that I've jarred something and damage is being done with each creak.

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

i had a similar problem last year,it just started creaking one day.

it turned out to be the anti roll bar bushes, the roll bar had also cracked. i had new ones fitted under warranty.

the mileage was about mid 70k.

Yes I have exactly the same problem on mine. Took it to the stealers last week but as it was raining, I can only assume the rain reduced the friction on the 'creaking' parts as it wouldn't do it when they took it out for a test run. So they said as they can't hear or reproduce the noise they couldn't and wouldn't do anything about it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burningmad.gif

Was so annoying as the creaking's returned again now the rain's gone, so I'll have to book it in yet again.. been back 20 times in 22 months of ownership - now that's what I call the Audi Experience /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/fuck_you.gif

The technician said it would be the anti roll bar bushes when I described the symptoms to him

I have been informed by AmD that my car is now not creaking (not that I'd know) and after Plymouth audi cleaning and playing 5 months ago the noise was back and worse than ever... AmD have now replaced both bushes and the bar, hope this time it works for a bit longer than 5 months.

Just reported the same problem to my local Audi Specialist (Autopool) and apparently it's a very common fault on several Audi models. Mine has a crack on the droplink/anti-roll bar. Apparently there is a modified replacement which isn't so pathetically fragile. Audi refuse to do a recall though. Has anybody been quoted on repair? Apparently part is about £70-80, plus labour, plus the inevitable wheel alignment. Not cheap!
