    Hi Guys n Gals,

New to the forum, hope all is well...recently became a proud owner of an A3, love the car, but yesterday whilst at work i noticed when stopping at lights and in general in idle the care was reving, its VERY annoying and seems to be affecting the performance too im sure...was thinking of booking in with Audi but not sure of the cost, the dealer that it was purchased from has a 3 month warranty! BUT after reading what that includes not sure if its covered and when i spoke to them the guy thought it was electrical! which it DEFO! is not having done some reading on here,

I dont have VCDS, so was thinkin of taking it to Audi in old trafford as im from manc,

does anyone know what a typical Diag charge at Audi is??

    Cheers guys

    HI,

We are in Stockport and can take a look at your car, it sounds like a PCV issue.

    Thanks, Rick

Yeah as above sounds like a pcv problem and by the looks of things you could save a fortune going there for the repair.

Without plugging it in to check any error codes you can't be 100% but it does sound very likely.
Usual pcv failures are idle jumping between 650rpm and up to 2000rpm
Loss of performance and poor mpg.

Check on you tube for 2.0 tfsi pcv failure for comparison
Golf leon audi skoda all the same system

When would you like to bring it? It's £50 for a code read/diagnosis, pressure test and up to an hours labour fixing the problem.
