hi guys! just purchased my first s3 2001. :rockwoot:

got a few questions and hoping someone can help?

the first thing i want to do is lower it, i have been looking at spring kits and in particular the kw 30mm front 25mm rear set. now originaly i was planning on going for coilovers but my brother works for audi and was telling me how the sumps like to catch the floor, so dont wanna go any lower than 30mm. does anyone have pics of an s3 lowered 30mm on the stock 17" wheels?

second thing is im planning on getting a remap, have been looking around and by the looks of things most people recomend the jabbasport custom remap.. what sort of power on average do s3's make with the remap? im looking for quite an aggressive map, and not a smooth linear map.

ive just come from a 410bhp pulsar gtir as ive decided to get something with decent build quality and still with a bit of poke :yum:

im sure il have a few more Qs but thats it for now!!!

thanks alot guys :anbet:

Congrats on the purchase!!

I bet the Sunny was an animal!! sorry, Pulsar ( sounds more manly doesn't it )

Cant help with the suspension but i know the Jabba maps are quite smooth and progressive, if you want aggressive apparently the revo maps are the way to go, a lot of people like them on here..

thanks bud, yeah the pulsar was good fun, fully forged, gt3071r turbo @ 1.6bar made 410bhp and 388ftlb torque. but had enough of the ****** thing spending more time on axle stands than actually driving it! hoping the s3 will be more reliable although have have no doubt it will be ;-)

so do revo do a custom remap ie on the dyno or are they all generic maps which they just upload? as i know every engine is different so would prefer it custom to my engine to get the best from it

and the next question will be where do i go to get a revo remap? lol
is it direct to revo or are there any specialists that use revo software?

thanks for your help bud. the nearest to me (london) are AMD and VAG TECHNIQUE. anyone used these? and can anyone confirm wether they are generic or do they do custom aswell?

Stay clear from AMD, IMO, their maps are generic and about 4 years old.

look at thread AMD a no no..

Go for a Jabbasport custom map. I had one on my A3 and it wasn't exactly a smooth map. The boost came on hard and strong low down.
I'd definetly go back with the S3 when I decide to have it done

cheers mate, yeah thats what i thought if i tell them i want an aggressive map then thats what i will get?

I would say so. On the A3 it was a bit much in the wet as you could easily spin the wheels and the power wasn't really useable, should be much better on the S3 though with the added traction.

Take a little drive to Jabbasport, that would be my advice....
They remapped my car recently and i'm very pleased :yum:....
My mpg has gone up too, obviously if you drive sensibly, before i had a dodgy generic Amd map and was getting about 27mpg, now i'm getting a more respectable 32ish on the custom map....:yahoo::respekt:

leggy is the stage 2 the custom map which they do on the dyno, £470 or something like that? how much difference does it make? is it simply a remap or do they up the boost? whats the power delivery like now?

what boost do s3's run standard and what can you raise them to on stock injectors etc with a remap?

thanks lads

Yeah it was about £475 i think, it was done on there rolling road....
(which is the stage two)
Mike set the boost at i believe 1.5bar which is really the safe limit, standard i think the boost is 1 bar on the S3.... he set the car to run on Shell V-power cos he said the car will run a lot better on this type of fuel, it does make a lot of difference to have it remapped, they should of came out the factory like this !! The delivery is nice and smooth through the rev range.....
I already had a forge 007p on the car so i didn't have to pay for that, and it's upto you if you want to change the air filter which will obviously cost a bit more.....you wont ever regret remapping your car !!

If you look on their web site you can have a read for yourself.....
